[Day 3 - Early Afternoon] Chores and Busywork

[Dapper Dog]

The peasants look at the ronin confused and one, an older woman spoke, "No you said there was another girl? I see no one samurai-sama."

[Yue]

She looked mildly embarrassed for a moment at the fact she was jumping from her own words now. However, that was probably enough to calm her down slightly from her own hysterics. "...yes, there was another girl here...she's gone now. This isn't something that happens around here, right?"

[Dapper Dog]

They shake their heads no but make warding signs and murmur prayers.

The old woman said, "The beaches have been a place of ghosts but I just thought it was local legend not... not real legend."

[Yue]

Finding herself out of her element here, she did her best to follow with their warding signs in hopes that they would have some effect with what was happening here. "Sorry that I have to ask...what's the legend about?"

She looked to where Jun was, "...is she going to be okay and why her?"

[Dapper Dog]

“The healer says she might recover, but her injuries are bad,” another man said grimly. “Poor thing.”

“I don't know much of the stories but it’s said there was a duel between two samurai a Crane and a Crab on the beach over some blood feud you samurai love. The story I always heard is that they both died on those sands.”

[Yue]

Yue couldn't help but give a long blink at the legend, "...and isn't there a Crane and a Crab getting married here? Isn't that kind of auspicious in a way? I'm surprised there isn't a million charms hanging on every wall here."

[Dapper Dog]

"It's an old legend, my granny was spouting it when she was a child," the peasant responded.

[Yue]

She nodded grimly on the matter, it didn't sound great but considering that they were in the Crab clans...the alternatives were perhaps worse. Her gaze went upwards and looked around the place warily, "...I don't know if I should stay here now..."

It was most a vocal thought to herself but it seemed like an open statement to the peasants before her.

[Dapper Dog]

“Why am I not surprised to find a ronin of interest at the scene of an accident,” a samurai spoke calmly as he entered the inn.

“What happened here?” he said looking around the room.

[Yue]

Considering the gravity of the situation the supernatural forces involved, she was nearly startled by the Hiruma making an appearance here. He wasn't a ghost but perhaps almost just as bad at the moment. She dipped down into a deep bow to greet him.

"...there are many ronin staying here, Crab-sama," she said in her defense, "I was just cleaning the inn when I saw some footprints on the floor. I followed them to the hall here and then when I was questioned about it, a beam dropped onto Jun here...And there was a girl who appeared out of nowhere, she looked haunted and wet. I really don't know how to describe it but it looked unnatural."

[Dapper Dog]

He nodded to a Kuni to investigate and said, "Is the peasant girl alive?"

[Yue]

"Yes...she's still alive, I think they took her to get looked at."

Yue was more than happy to step aside for the Crab to pass to do their investigation. As much as she wanted to wash her hands of the unpleasant situation, she had a feeling she might be more connected than she thought. Or maybe that's just the anxiety.

[Dapper Dog]

"You are not making a good name for yourself, might want to... change... that," he said and then went started looking at the scene.

[Yue]

Yue bowed once more, "...I just happen to be in the area when it happened, it wasn't my intention to cause any trouble. I thought I was being a good guest by doing my part and keeping an eye out..."

[Dapper Dog]

"How noble of you, I will put that in my report," he responded as he looked around.

[Yue]

Yue tried not to react much to the Crab's words and merely bowed again. "Ano...if there's nothing needed of me, I will make myself scarce. I hope you find the cause of this unfortunate event."

[Dapper Dog]

Jinzo continued his work.

[Yue]

Yue stood awkwardly there for a moment, waiting to see if Jinzo was going to say anything different. The important fact was he didn't tell her to stay and she took that as permission to leave.

She went off to her room to do some packing. Even though she wasn't leaving yet, she was planning to keep mobile.
