[Day 2 - MA] Earthy Pepper Festival [Observation Thread]

[Yoko]

"Oh of course, this one got distracted in thought," she said moving aside for the woman.

Taking up the newly made spot beside her she looked to the fire for a moment then to Sutorenja. "Anything you care to share? Could use a nice distraction, eh?" she said, offering a light smile before looked forward again. Resting one of her hands on her hip as she stood.

[Ikeda Ishi]

"Yes, though that may just be my opinion."

He offered the young woman a curious look. "Do you agree?"

“Agree?” she repeated curiously.

She glanced at the fire and then back to the Mantis, “If it has deepened your understanding of the Crab in some small way then yes.”

[Sutorenja]

“Share?” she said looking over to the ronin, “I… was not aware I had to share something. My apologies, samurai-sama. I brought nothing with me worth sharing.”

[Doji Yuma]

"Fascinating. I had no idea it worked like that for Asahina. Or maybe it never occurred to me that it could be approached that way. How far have you explored the art form?"

"I'm not sure they've always been so organized in their approach, but it's good at spotting unusual talents as well as prodigies who naturally excel in several art forms at once.

I have been doing tattoos for several years now. So not a novice anymore but still far from mastery. My training have been quite traditional, under Crane and Dragon experts' tutelage. I could say that with the former I have mostly worked on small, detailed tattoos while with the later the focus was generally more on larger and more stylized pieces. But that would be an oversimplification and in truth both had me work on a variety of designs."

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

"I thought I had nothing I was supposed to bring," she says glancing back with a slight smirk.

"Though you are right; And I was planning on bringing some things, after all."

Yuuwaku lays a hand to her chest, tilts her head back, and pantomimes injury.

"Ah, Kitsuki-san's thrust, I am slain!"

Smiling, she adopts a more normal posture. "A telling touch--but only to be expected!"

She can be a good sport, of course. A useful skill.

[Yoko]

"Share?” she said looking over to the ronin, “I… was not aware I had to share something. My apologies, samurai-sama. I brought nothing with me worth sharing.”

"Your thoughts, eh? You don't have any need to share, sure, but figure it's something to talk about a moment, eh? Here, I'll go first," she brings a hand up to her chest, taps it once. "I'm Yoko, and I'm here trying to find a break from how people look at me," she quirks her brow and lays the hand out, indicating Sutorenja.

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"Yes, though that may just be my opinion."

"I was more wondering if attending the festival was a worthwhile investment of your own time." He chuckled softly. "I probably should of been more clear."

[Hiruma Sen]

at that Daichi let out a bellowing laugh "Indeed it is Hiruma-san! Do you have much experience with sumai? Maybe we could give the people a show!" he said with another chuckle "I bet a lot of people would bet on me though I know how quick and wily you Hiruma can be."

“Only a bit of experience.” Sen looked at Daichi with a hint of caution. “I’d still put money on you, Hida-san. I would put up quite a fight, though!”

[Sutorenja]

"Your thoughts, eh? You don't have any need to share, sure, but figure it's something to talk about a moment, eh? Here, I'll go first," she brings a hand up to her chest, taps it once. "I'm Yoko, and I'm here trying to find a break from how people look at me," she quirks her brow and lays the hand out, indicating Sutorenja.

Sutorenja replied, "This one is Sutorenja, and I came here to join the parade, people look at you oddly?"

That just added a look of confusion on her face.

[Ikeda Ishi]

"Oh." He offered the young woman a sheepish smile.

"Used to being the one lowering my eyes to avoid causing offense. Better to.. alter course a little, rather than being forced into reminding my betters they shouldn't do the same, eh?"

[Sutorenja]

"Yea," she said, pausing in thought for a moment. "Guess I'll explain it like this, eh? I was in the parade too. "Yea-" she paused, crossing her arms over her chest as she looked over toward the fire. "Anyway. Should I let you get back to your thoughts, or would you prefer to keep me for company a little longer?"

[Sutorenja]

"I hope I have not insulted you, Yoko-san, this one apologizes if she has. I do not fully understand your meaning and I feel that slighted you," she said honestly.

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"That's quite selfless of you." He glanced around trying to find one of those in the crowd. The Daidoji at least was probably close by. "I suppose I was wrong when I thought you may be watching the festivities of your own accord."

[Ikeda Ishi]

"Lady Yushoko wished to observe the festivities, I am not sure she was prepared for what she would see," she said with a small smile.

[Yoko]

"I hope I have not insulted you, Yoko-san, this one apologizes if she has. I do not fully understand your meaning and I feel that slighted you," she said honestly.

"You haven't. Even if you did I wouldn't worry about it, I'm not going to take it to heart or honor, eh?" she said, looking back with just a touch of a smile to reassure that fact.

"Just came here to strike up some kind of conversation. Figured since you said you were lost in thought I would ask about what you're thinking, eh? As for the other thing, I think you understood well enough, if that helps clear it up enough? I hope," she adds on.

[Sutorenja]

"I have nothing deep on my mind, just enjoying the moment," she said smirking.

"Just hoping that we have done our part to honor their ways."

[Kitsuki Naida]

That brought a light chuckle from the young Captain. "I would guess you are right there." He shook his head he hadn't met the Crane woman but she had seemed a bit sheltered from how she reacted to Yoko.

"Still it speaks well of her that she didn't leave. It seems that managed to get you a bit of time to yourself as well."

[Ikeda Ishi]

"I had not considered that, I usually just stay focused on the task I am given," she said honestly.

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

The smirk spread into a slight grin.

"No thrust, just a feint I am afraid. Perhaps another time, when Kakita-san is more prepared."

The Kakita certainly had a way with words; Naida found herself growing a bit flush as she danced around possible double entendres.

Yuuwaku returns the grin.

"I shall look forward to receiving you."

And the blushing is cute.

"It's good to be able to show it when it's easy, eh? Nice to participate in things like this," she settled her hand on her hip once more. "Been spending a while myself taking in what I can while I'm here. Found the beach is pretty nice, has a good view of the water. Even a post out by the farms that's nice to just relax by for a while."

"What brings you through? In the area and hoping for the festival or?"

[Doji Yuma]

"Did you do any work on yourself? I'd love to see an example of you're art, if you're willing."

"I did experiment on myself a bit through the years but asked the kami of water to restore my flesh to its previous state afterward as I wasn't satisfied with the result. One of the many advantages of being able to communicate with the spirits.

I kind of regret not bringing a few sketches with me but the truth is that I don't rely much on them. Usually I start with conjuring a three-dimensions illusion and modeling it until I reach a satisfying result, and only then I copy it on paper for reference.

Well, even if I have nothing to offer at the moment, I will most probably use the opportunity of being in a location I'm not familiar with and with people I don't usually meet to work on a few novelty-inspired designs. So that might be fixed in a few days."
