[Day 2 - MA] Earthy Pepper Festival [Observation Thread]

[Kakita Konohamaru]

Wordlessly, Konohamaru retrieves his kimono and puts it on, red as a beet.

He may have whispered something like sorry you had to see my scars or somesuch, but it's hard to say. He slinks back into the more general crowd area, silently cheering on the other participants.

"Oh... just husband shopping," she replied watching the parade.

“Crab men seem to be the rage this spring.” She said warmly.

“My cousins will be most disappointed.” She added.

As he does, in an aside, Yuuwaku whispers "It was a fine performance, Kakita-bugyo, and your scars show what you have given. They're handsome."

Her own cheers are louder, though more restrained than many around her.

There is a response, but it's lost in a sea of flustered gibberish. Still, a smile does crack onto his face, but for a moment.

[Bayushi Shitoru]

Shitoru had seen a similar event in a farming village near the woods in his lord's province. It was mostly peasants taking part in the spectacle, he was appreciative of the Crab's efforts though. And appreciative of the view, for certain. Though that mattered less than these fine samurai appeasing the fortunes.

So he cheered for them, as people should have good marriages blessed by many children.

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

There is a response, but it's lost in a sea of flustered gibberish. Still, a smile does crack onto his face, but for a moment.

Yuuwaku bows as she can with the one kimono yet in hand. It's not a bad-looking smile, she thinks. Somebody's going to be a lucky lady. Or gentleman.

She blushes just a bit at the thought.

Masao, the duty done and really no worse for wear, isn't as anxious to recover his kimono from Yuuwaku as he expected. What in all the spirit realms are you doing? Get some clothes on. It's like you've entirely lost your senses. Masao? Grandson? Masao!

There are plenty of points of interest to catch his eye as he rather leisurely finds his way to the other Crane. He does gratefully accept his kimono from Yuuwaku, without really hearing his own words of thanks or recalling much, save the pretty jewel above the pretty face. Th-that wasn't... You didn't... Did you just wink at someone?

Masao takes a couple of steps away, dons his kimono and ties it, though without much care being shown to that. His eyes continue to roam the event, without much focus.

His cousin waved her fan in approval of his performance, even if her cheeks were crimson from the scandal of so many under dressed.

[Kakita Masao]

Yushoko's fan is well-timed, snapping Masao back, at least slightly, from the gentle haze he'd been in. He bows in his cousin's direction to acknowledge the acknowledgement, then sets about clearing his head further.

[Hida Daichi]

Daichi felt good about his performance, he'd carried the load and barely broken a sweat doing so. He wandered about the Shrine seemingly not overly concerned with retrieving his kimono. The big Hida was all smiles nodding and waving to others around he noticed.

[Hiruma Sen]

Sen felt food about her team’s spectacular performance, and joined the crowd quite comfortable in her state of undress. She seemed quite pleased.

The ronin was excited at having done something so daring but also fulfilling. For now she observed the fire and muttered a prayer.

A young samurai-ko stood high amongst the crowd cheering on the Hiruma team.

Go TEAM HIRUMA! Go Bahjahs! Go Togashi! Go Daddy!

As the team finishes her father approaches, not having taken time to dress and takes the girl in his arms, "Thank you young one, your spirit pushed me forward!"

Having arrived with the rest of the Mantis, Yoko was happy to have played her part. Finding herself a spot to enjoy watching for a bit she stood off to the side, one hand on her hip. Leaning onto a nearby shelf that was set up, she sat her chin into it. With only the undergarments yet still, she didn't rush herself back into clothing like some of the more reserved, meaning the many scars across her lower body were visible to all. Notably, perhaps, was the cloth she wore around her fore-arm despite the rest of her attire.

Seeing the Kakita passing before two of his clansmates like an automaton, Yuma tried to recall the teachings of Asahina about dealing with such cases. The closest thing that came to his mind was shell-shocked battle veterans. He didn't remember any details about how to treat that issue though, just an emphasis on calm and patience.

He walked forward to put himself in his way, avoiding physical contact, and simply asked:

"Kakita-sama?"

"Oh... my," the older Doji lady was heard to say near the end of the route, while observing the rather scandalous parade in the most honorable way she could: side-eye, a courtier's fan covering the lower half of her face.

"What... what a... charming fertility festival," Soon-ja managed to say. She allowed herself a small giggle from behind her fan.

Sen felt food about her team’s spectacular performance, and joined the crowd quite comfortable in her state of undress. She seemed quite pleased.

"Hiruma-san! Great job out there! Really showed em what a crab can do!" Daichi exclaimed approaching the smaller Crab, they had both grown up around here and while they weren't close he at least knew who the Hiruma was.

"I think the best part of this whole thing are all the shocked Crane faces. Bet they'd never have a festival like this in their lands!" He bellowed in a deep, rich, baritone.

Should she have cause to notice, she'd merely tilt her head questioningly.

Merely a quiet nod, then he resumed watching the others. It wouldn't do to stare no matter the circumstances.

"Hiruma-san! Great job out there! Really showed em what a crab can do!" Daichi exclaimed approaching the smaller Crab, they had both grown up around here and while they weren't close he at least knew who the Hiruma was.

"I think the best part of this whole thing are all the shocked Crane faces. Bet they'd never have a festival like this in their lands!" He bellowed in a deep, rich, baritone.

Sen remembered Daichi from growing up quite well, and didn’t really envy him and his position within his family. But Sen also didn’t really see why he was treated in such a way, he always seemed like an okay guy.

“Not just the Crane. Some of the others looked absolutely puzzled as well. The Mantis are taking it well, though.” Sen motioned towards the Mantis team that did particularly well.

[Yoko]

Merely a quiet nod, then he resumed watching the others. It wouldn't do to stare no matter the circumstances.

Yoko shrugged, happy enough to continue hanging out as she was.

[Kitsuki Tanaka]

The Kitsuki was there as well, taking in the quaint custom with a calm casualness. Some might find it scandalous or an occasion to gawk at the forms on display. For Tanaka seeing mostly naked muscly folks exerting themselves in public was kind of a normal weekday thing. The Togashi were going to be Togashi after all.
