Checking (D1, LM, Open)

[Otomo Saisei]

As a clerk to the Nakodo that arranged this whole shabang, Saisei makes sure he has all the detailed information about the guests in his hand, so he begins checking the list he has been provided by the Crab with his own. Just to make extra doubly sure.

[Asahina Sanaharu]

Still on his visit to the Castle first, he was surprised to find there the same Otomo from the boat. Walking towards him with elegant steps, the Asahina bows deeply. "It seems like we met here again, Otomo-sama."

[Otomo Saisei]

"Ah! Asahina-san. I hope Inari-kami has been kind to you today. Checking in?" He says, while leaving pen aside and rolling up the scroll.

[Asahina Sanaharu]

On his eyes crosses surprise, although his on is still firm. How did he... "Yes, I have arrived to meet the place. What about you?"

[Otomo Saisei]

"Trivial matters. Checking names and making sure it matches with the other lists that have been given to the Crab." He mentions to the scroll with his eyes, then looks around, "So. What you think of the courtyard?"

[Asahina Sanaharu]

"Regardless of one's definitions to court or yard, I believe that they do not meet this place." He answers. "This place works entirely on this rule. It could be better defined as a wall than as a castle."

[Otomo Saisei]

The Otomo laughs inwardly for a moment and looks up to see the sun bathing down on most of the are, "Indeed, it will be a challenging series of days to attend to meetings here. Fortune will be the parasol vendor. If there's one around here, of course."

[Asahina Sanaharu]

"I hope there are wagasas on the area, so we can at least send our servants fetch them. I admit I brought not mines as well." He says, then looks directly at the Otomo. "Otomo-sama, may I ask for clarification on a memory unclear?"

[Otomo Saisei]

"I should do the same. Good call." The Otomo narrows his eyebrows and says, "Of course. How can I be of help."

[Asahina Sanaharu]

"On the ship we arrived, I wondered, did you ask for my assistance on courtly matters? No one masters the steps of Doji-no-kami better than her children, after all."

[Otomo Saisei]

"Well. I wouldn't be so bold as to ask for assistance, yet, if Asahina-san thinks it is benefitial to share information. I would definitely be inclined to consider such an agreement, hai." He says crossing his arms at his back.

[Asahina Sanaharu]

He nods gracefully. "I care not to lend knowledge, for this is much the way of my family. I took here tea in a calm and cool place. Do you wish me to order the servants to prepare some, Otomo-sama?"

[Otomo Saisei]

"Sure. That will refresh the mind a bit after all this work." He says, thankful, "But no need to deviate from your duty, please. I am, after all, a low ranking Otomo of no great renown."

[Asahina Sanaharu]

He smiles softly. "More important than a low ranking Asahina of no great renown, Otomo-sama. I would be more than happy to offer to read alongside you the names on those lists, but I believe your master sent them to you so you could learn. On this, I will have to watch and only provide my company."

[Otomo Saisei]

"Asahina-san is too kind and this one is not worthy of such attention. Tea would be greatly appreciated, and Asahina-san's company is welcomed whenever it is not improper to his duties." The Otomo provides a thankful bow.

[Asahina Sanaharu]

He takes again a soft smile on his face, getting up to order a nearby servant to bring tea for the two of them, returning to the table in sequence. "Have you met anyone new today?"

[Otomo Saisei]

Saisei provides a thankful nod to the servant with a bright smile and takes waits until tea is served to both before partaking. He says, with a laugh, "I did meet several new people today, hai. Their names, at least. That and some training earlier on at the training grounds. Not that far from here, and just slightly different."

[Asahina Sanaharu]

"Oh, this is good and well. As a young one, I do suggest you to seek counsil with Otomo-sama of whom you met today when you are not clear on how to proceed. It often helps to make things clear." He says with a gentle nod, knowing how young imperials were often bait.

[Otomo Saisei]

Saisei nods, "I'll certainly do so. Although I confess it is rather interesting to get an unbiased view of other people first, don't you think?"

[Asahina Sanaharu]

"First impressions are the ones that last." He nods. The servant comes with tea at last, and two cups.

[Otomo Saisei]

Taking a sip, he nearly sighs out of pleasure for the refreshment and says, "What about Asahina-san: any interesting personalities and others to keep an eye on?"

[Asahina Sanaharu]

He takes his on sip, then his fan, and gives a slight smile. "I have two friends of mine that attend this wedding with me. One of them is Kakita Masao-ue, and the other is Kakita Yuuwaku-senpai."

[Otomo Saisei]

The Otomo nods, taking mental note of the names he just read and his annotations to provide to Yusuke later on. "I'll make sure to meet them whenever possible. Any special insights about each one?"

[Asahina Sanaharu]

"Both are people of great virtue and proper etiquette. I'm sure you will friend well with both of them." He answers with a gentle nod, not knowing which other Cranes were there.

[Otomo Saisei]

"Noted." He says sipping again along with a gentle smile. He takes a moment to ask, rather curiously, "I wonder how much we'll have to adapt so we don't sound too... complex –– I would say –– to the resident's more direct approach into matters."
