What's in the Basket? [Day 7, EA]

[Yoko]

Hopefully having found the girls things she came back out of the cabin and gave a wave. Walking over casually, comfortably.

[Yue]

Yue stepped aside slightly to allow the more smiley and friendlier face of the two ronin to take the front stage. She was perhaps more at ease keeping a vigilant eye on her surroundings and looking for more things to shoot.

[Dapper Dog]

"You killed him?" she said in reply not moving.

[Yue]

Yue cast a sidelong glance at Yoko, slightly unsure about this. However, it just might be her nature of suspecting everything around her. After a beat, she gave a small nod at the woman. "Well, he's dead at least."

[Yoko]

"Confirmed it myself," Yoko added, offering a quick nod as she came up to them. Laying her hand down passively on her sword so as that it wasn't as easy to draw but served as a nice resting point.

[Dapper Dog]

"You bastards! How am I going to survive?!" she shouted back.

[Yoko]

"Calm down, eh?" she offered with an easy smirk. "You've got a few options," she knelt and offered over what possessions of the woman she might have been able to find.

"I'm not here to choose for you, or leave you out in the cold. Even if this was.." she shook her head. "Doesn't matter. My help's being offered, so we'll figure it out quick, eh? Can bring you into village, maybe see what the folk at the shrine can do to help as a start."

[Yue]

Yue resisted her urge to roll her eyes at the woman and stood behind Yoko as she glanced around. However, she still kept an eye on the woman just in case she did anything too brash with the loss of her meal ticket. Or it might have been the Stockholm Syndrome, she wasn't too sure.

[Dapper Dog]

"You killed my man," she backed away holding a knife at them.

"I'll kill you!"

[Yoko]

"Don't try it," Yoko rose, and gave a soft whistle for Yue just to grab her attention. Reaching into her obi she dug around a bit, dug out a koku and held it between her fingers a moment. Putting it up on her thumb she flicked it at the woman.

"Way I hear and see it, he was a bastard. So," she shrugged. "you'll do better off without him. You've got until we're gone to decide you want my help, eh? I'll be," she threw her thumb over her shoulder, "just over there."

[Yue]

Yue did snap her attention to the woman when she started to pull the knife. She took a step back and had her bow at the ready. It was perhaps wiser to take out her sword but she imagined that she could get a shot off before she would dare lurch toward either of them.

[Dapper Dog]

She grabbed her things and the koku and ran off with anger in her eyes.

[Yoko]

Watching the woman run off Yoko turned about, gave an exaggerated shrug, "Guess that's that," she gave a nod back toward the cabin. "Mind grabbing the basket and.. well, you know," she pointed over toward the stream nearby. "Gonna go wash this," she said, indicating her side where there was the cut that did make it through from the axe.

"It's not that bad but.. well," she shrugged.

[Yue]

She watched her leave but didn't bother to wait for her to get out of their earshot before shaking her head. "I don't know what is her issue in all of this but she should have really spoke up for him in the first place. Not that this changes much. I guess we're lucky that we're staying on board of the ship instead of the inn. It would have made for an interesting stay...but I still wouldn't linger here that long."

She gave a glance to the wound and nodded, making her way to where the dismembered head was found. Rummaging through the basket, she found something to wrap the head in potentially. She took it by the hair at first to let any of the blood drain out. It was likely going to be a sopping wet mess either way but she liked to think that there was some care taken. After a few moments, she would wrap the head and place it in the basket before making her way over to where Yoko would be found by the stream. "It's not pretty...but...yeah. Is this something you do often?"

[Yoko]

"Don't even know the half of it," she chuckled, shaking her head on that first note before they parted. While Yue saw to the head Yoko saw to her wound at the stream. Leaning down so that she could lay by it and brush water up and clean out the wound as it was. Securing the wound best as she could with whatever she had on hand to do so, enough that walking around would keep it from getting too disturbed. Lucky that it wasn't that major of a wound, even if the bruise was already starting to settle in a bit and made it look nastier than it was.

When Yue returned she flashed a grin and covered it up a bit, "Often? Suppose- it's what I'm good at. Throwing myself into danger with the assurance my skill with a blade will outmatch whatever they got," she shrugged. "Probably not the best course but.. hasn't killed me yet."

[Yue]

"Maybe you should look after that," she said with a point at her wound and then a shrug of her shoulders, it wasn't really her expertise and just her feelings, "maybe a guest here is willing to provide help for free if you're friendly enough with them. I don't think he would have prepared enough to dirty his blade beforehand...but the last thing you want is waking up to muscle spasms when you only got a small gash, right?"

She raised her brows and then narrowed her eyes in an uncertain look. "Are we all then? I guess he might have been too at some point in time. He did pretty well for himself with his own little empire in the middle of no where with his serf and entertainment, kind of a lord among us."

[Yoko]

"I will," she gave an easy nod. "As for that guy though," she gave a nod to indicate him. "Depends on your definition of well-" she glanced over her shoulder. Giving a quick little temporary tend to the wound before cleaning up. "Not really mine," she shrugged, looked down to the water. "Nice spot and all but.. well, maybe he thought he was happy. Maybe he wasn't much of a man," she shook her head and shrugged.

Standing she turned to Yue, "Way I see it. The girl ran off the second there was trouble," she pointed out toward the direction she ran off, "and the guy didn't care much to stick around when the going got tough. If that winds up being the quality of my last two friends in the world? Please put me in the dirt," she chuckled, but lost the humor in it after a moment when the throb of pain soured the humor a little.

[Yue]

"It's not the greatest set-up..." she gave a shake of her head, "It's not something I would want either but I guess I was trying to make something poetic out of it. There isn't exactly all that much here but always enough for people to fight over. Including us, it seems. I'm sure a lot of samurai here can't quite see things this low."

[Yoko]

"Sorry to ruin the poetry," she gave a little smirk and dip of the head. Rising from the dip with a smile worn. "That's.." she glances out over the field, where the body still lay though it was headless. "Guess that's what my mom always set me up for, eh? Someone needs to do the dirty work down here.. keep the common-folk safe but," she shook her head. "That might- that might not be something I can keep doing. It's for the best.. I think, but," she shrugged, letting the thought go with a soft exhale.

[Yue]

"I'm not exactly sure if we did all that much to change the world but I think I know what you're getting at. Someone always needs to do the dirty work somewhere, even if it's not something that many people think about," she nodded and gave a glance at the basket, "Do you want to head back and get rid of this thing as soon as possible?"

[Yoko]

"Yea, better sooner than later. Otherwise it'll-" she waved her hand, cut herself off. "Let's not worry about those details, eh?" she smirked and shook her head. Walking over toward the basket Yoko would make the small effort to lift it up into her arm again. Turning back around, "As for the idea of not doing much, you're right. It isn't much, eh? But.. it's a whole lot to a few people," she shrugs,"at least sometimes."

[Yue]

"A bit is a lot to some people, that's for sure," she said as she gave another glance to the set up that the dead ronin had earlier, "then again, I'm pretty sure that more important samurai have killed each for less for whatever is going on here. I'm not going to criticize them too much. It might not even be worth losing sleep over."

[Yoko]

"Only thing is to move forward, eh?" she said with a smirk, giving a nod back toward following the stream to the road and back to the village itself.

And Yue followed after her.
