D4EN, Rain Checked? (Expecting)

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

After leaving the docks and heading back into town, Yuuwaku finds herself in need of some refreshment. So she stops in at the inn, orders a bit to eat and a bit to drink, and settles in.

[Hida Daichi]

Daichi happened to stop by the very same inn (not that there were many options of inns in the village) looking to maintain the nice heady buzz he was experiencing from the Mantis' party. He saw the lovely Crane and his eyebrows shot up realizing he had failed to meet her yesterday, or were they supposed to meet today? His thoughts were confused for a second but he pressed forward.

"Kakita-sama you look lovely as ever this night, how are you? May I join you?" He asked looking down at her with easy going mismatched eyes and a flash of white as he smiled.

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

Yuuwaku had been focused on her plate and cup, and so starts when Daichi speaks to her. But she looks up at him, focusing on the good eye, as she smiles and says with a short bow "Of course, Hida-san. Your company would be a comfort to me this evening--or I suppose it is 'tonight,' again, isn't it?"

She gestures to a place alongside her. "Things have been busy for all, I think."

[Hida Daichi]

Daichi sits down as indicated and nods "Hai, festivals and parties talk of witches and secret ronin meetings on the beach. These are certainly interesting times. How have things been for you Kakita-sama? What did you think of the fertility festival?"

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

"I rather enjoyed it, actually," Yuuwaku notes. "And I was happy to carry your lady sister's message to my kin to aid her; I hope it will help you to be an uncle soon, perhaps several times over."

She leans in slightly. "Is it always so...boisterous? Or were you being more restrained for your guests?" A sly grin curls her lips.

[Hida Daichi]

Daichi chuckled "Hai it is about as I remember it, though this was my first year participating. It is quite an exciting experience if I do say so myself, seeing everyone out there working hard." And in so little

"I saw a number of red faces from those in powder blue, I suppose not everyone from your clan is so comfortable with others breaking propriety." He said grinning back to her.

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

"It seemed to me that if the lady of the demesne was participating in such way that it is proper," Yuuwaku replies. "And it was good to see so many united in common cause." And such undress.

"Though there were many...formidable examples of form on display. It was, as you say, exciting." The grin remains in place throughout. "But I am perhaps rude; will you have to drink? To eat?"

[Hida Daichi]

"Some food will probably do me good, I drank enough of the Mantis' alcohol that their ship will be considerably lighter on its return voyage." He said laughing a bit "probably just some rice or something to help soak up some of the drink."

"What is Kakita-sama enjoying tonight?" He asked looking more to her cup than the more obvious on her plate.

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

The plate is grilled shrimp and noodles. The cup, as Yuuwaku notes when she sees him look in it, is "Tea, Hida-san. A solid Kaiu tea. I have been moved enough by the spirits tonight, I think, though I could not take in so many as you.

"And company, now, especially."

[Hida Daichi]

"Thats not surprising Kaktia-sama! There are not many who can take in so much drink as me. But I believe your talents lie elsewhere than the consumption of alcohol and you are one of few who so readily enjoys my company. Many shy away more from my eye, though you notice it more than others." He said grinning to her cheekily.

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

"An artist has to attend to detail," Yuuwaku replies, "and, I must admit, it does stand out."

A servant arrives with a bottle and a cup for Daichi. Yuuwaku pours for him. "I am told it is bad luck to pour one's own, and I would not lead Hida-san to misfortune."

[Hida Daichi]

Daichi chuckled "I suppose I mean I should say I notice you specifically not paying attention to it Kakita-sama."

He bows his head in thanks as she pours for him, his ever present grin sitting on his lips "luck has never been something I took much stock in, when you're born like me you make your own luck."

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

Yuuwaku nods her head to that. "Still, best not to aggravate the world on purpose," she says. "That happens enough without intention.

"Better, far, to work to improve matters, yes?"

[Hida Daichi]

Daichi chuckled "Some of us only exist to aggrevate the world whenever we can." He said with a small wink then chuckled "Though you are right probably shouldn't do it over something so small."

He took a drink "can't say I've ever had the privilege of having my drinks poured by such a gorgeous woman, you surely do credit to the notion of Crane beauty Kakita-sama. Not to mention the sharp mind that lives behind those sparkling eyes of yours." His grin was a bit sharper itself more mischievous.

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

"Hida-san has a keen eye to notice such," Yuuwaku replies. "Not many do, or care to look for it.

"But I can scarcely imagine that Hida-san does not have many competing for his attentions. I don't imagine he beats them away with a stick, either," she adds, a wry twist turning her lip.

[Hida Daichi]

"Not unless they ask Kakita-san." He replies, his own grin much fuller lacking subtlety "I do alright for myself, with the ones who don't scare off." His voice was a touch deeper than before "you dont scare easy do you Kakita-san?" He asked, his eyes not quite smoldering as he raised the eyebrow above his improperly colored eye.

"And people that dismiss your mind likely don't make it long I imagine."

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

Yuuwaku chuckles.

"Do many ask for such?" she teases before responding to the question posed to her.

"There are different braveries, Hida-san. I would not face what you do as you do, and I would not insult you by suggesting it. But there are areas where I do not demur. And some have, indeed, learned that less happily than they would prefer.

"But it is clear that Hida-san is a quick study of many things. It is a good trait to see in a man."

[Hida Daichi]

"I am not the smartest samurai in most rooms but I have a keen eye and I notice things which I think I prefer to just knowing a lot of facts. What good is all that knowledge if you don't notice the threat before its too late." He said with a chuckle

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

Yuuwaku nods.

"You speak sense, Hida-san," she says and refills his cup. "Though I should hope I am not seen as a threat here. I have enjoyed the hospitality of your family, very much so, and I would hate to be repaying it poorly."

[Hida Daichi]

"If a package seems too good it likely is. You have not proven yourself a threat but such honeyed words with graceful and disarming action. Ill be keeping an eye on you Kakita-sama, and not just because I like what I see." He said flashing his teeth at her in a grin.

"Though I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the hospitality. Mother is a stickler for tradition but certainly rough around the edges. Not that I'm one to talk much."

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

"We use the tools we have, Hida-san," Yuuwaku replies. "But I have been told I do well with my lips and tongue.

"And I have had no complaint of the accommodations, nor have I heard any from my Clan-mates. I must also add, the food here is very good. I can see how you have grown so, if you grew up here."

[Hida Daichi]

Daichi laughed a bit there "Of this i have little doubt Kakita-sama perhaps a more in depth display of your skills will be warranted someday." He said with a wink

"And I've grown so because of the blood in my veins, the blood of Hida grows us big in everyway!" Daich laughed "though the food does help keep our big bodies from starving!"

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

"Every way, Hida-san?" Yuuwaku asks, winking right back at him. "Perish the thought!"

She pauses, a sardonic smile spreading her mouth.

"Imagine, ears growing like sails on a Mantis ship!"

[Hida Daichi]

His smile matched hers as he leaned in closer "I mean have you ever seen an old Hida? They are rare but...." he pointed over to an aging gentleman whose ears were quite large and pitched his voice a bit lower "Old Takeshi-sama over there probably could help the Mantis should something happen to their sails." He finished definitely a bit closer than was considered proper she could feel the warm air on her ear from him talking.

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

Yuuwaku chokes off a laugh at Daichi's comment and shivers just a bit at his breath in her ear.

Quietly, her voice pitched just for the Hida, Yuuwaku purrs "And has Hida-san been blown about, to know how things fare with the sheets?"

She turns to face him more fully. Small as she is, it is still an upward look, but a fiery one.
