What's in the Basket? [Day 7, EA]

[Yoko]

Yoko stood at a stream. Listening to the sound of the world around her as she dug under the bit of armor she wore over her chest. Armor that was old and if there were ever any mons on it once they'd been scratched off long ago. Under the armor, in went a small pack, flint and tinder, and out came her pipe, and with it the last bit of that pouch that Daichi had given her. Looking out over the water as she packed her pipe absently. She'd not come out here alone, in fact she came with Yue whom was like to be nearby but they'd split as to follow their plan. Yoko didn't much look out for where she might be but stood with the sound of the trickling stream for a moment.

With some effort she walked over to and leaned down low by a small burning patch of a few sticks and leaves. Using it to light her pipe before kicking some dirt over, quenching the fire. With a soft grunt she rose back up and brushed off her knee. Looking back up the stream in the direction the old cabin was like to lay. Popping the pipe in between her lips she stood with the thought. Patting herself down to make sure she hadn't dropped or left anything behind.

Satisfied she walked a few steps over and collected a basket she'd been carrying from town. Holding it in her right arm, tending her pipe with her left, she walked on toward the inevitable destination that lay ahead. Assured that Yue had her back.

[Yue]

After a day of rest and gathering her bearings that everything was returning to normal once more finally, Yue was more than ready for their task at hand. She put on her armour, which wasn't impressive by any measure but looked well-maintained. As an archer, she often kept away from the brunt of combat that she didn't have to spend very much on repairs.

However, her appearances didn't matter so much when she kept to the shadows, trees and shrubs. Her clothes were hat and cloak had various shrugs stuck to it and she used the scenery to her advantage to keep out of site. Yoko might not be able to see her but she was around with her bow at the ready. She had her back.

Day 7, Early Afternoon: Stealth/Agility roll, -5 from armour: 9d10o10k3-5 31

[Dapper Dog]

The cabin comes into view, out front is a thin ropy looking thug sharpening a sword while sitting on the porch.

[Yoko]

Yoko waited until she was within shouting distance. Pulling the pipe from her mouth she let the puff of smoke float up into the air. Raising the pipe-hand a little she pulled her lips together and gave a shark whistle as to attract his attention. Giving a little rock side to side with her wrist to call attention to herself.

"I wanna talk!" she called out, adjusting the weight of the basket in her arm.

[Dapper Dog]

The thin man stood quickly and shouted, "Name yourself!"

[Yoko]

"Yoko! Ronin!" she called out, pointing to herself with her pipe, "You wanna talk over there, or over here?" she said, giving the basket taking up her sword arm a little shake.

[Dapper Dog]

"We're not entertaining guests, so piss off," the man called back.

[Yoko]

"Awww, but I'm a very entertaining guest!" she called back, a bright smile. Shaking the basket in her arm. "Don't you wanna know what's inside?"

[Dapper Dog]

"Awww, but I'm a very entertaining guest!" she called back, a bright smile. Shaking the basket in her arm. "Don't you wanna know what's inside?"

[Dapper Dog]

"It's enticing, but unless your willing to screw like your ass is on fire we'll pass," he responded.

[Yoko]

"Wasn't that kind of offer," she said, walking forward regardless. Putting the pipe back in-between her lips she gave it a few more puffs before knocking it out onto the ground. "Doing this the less subtle way then. I wanna see Umoji," she called the first, but progressively lowered her voice as she got closer.

[Dapper Dog]

The man held out his blade toward Yoko and said, "Umoji ain't taking visitors, piss off or die."

[Yoko]

"How about a third option?" she came close enough that she could toss the basket down half-way between them. Top popping off when it hit the ground and bouncing away a little. With a sharp whistle she hooked one of her thumbs in her obi. Left hand out to the side, looking passive. "I am just here to talk, really. All it has to be. Or it could get a lot worse, way faster," she said, looking from him to the surrounding area a little.

Did after all say that 'we' word.

[Dapper Dog]

"Not sure we have much to talk about, but you stay there and we can chat. Make it quick," he responded.

[Yoko]

"Excellent," she sad, broad smile. Staying just as she was. "Are you Umoji then? Wanted to learn about the man, apparently he's an interesting sort."

[Dapper Dog]

"No," he responded flatly.

[Yoko]

"Who am I speaking with then, a friend?" she asked, quirking her brow.

[Dapper Dog]

"Does not matter, you here for blood, you came here to die then," he responded.

[Yoko]

"Doesn't have to be blood if it doesn't need to be. Way I figure.. Umoji could be a complicated man but with good reasons, I'm willing to listen to those reasons. Maybe if they're good enough reasons I can even help," she suggested, shrugging.

"What do you think?"

[Dapper Dog]

"You talk too much, so piss off or draw steel," he shouted unmoved.

[Yoko]

"And if I don't?" she asked, quirking her brow.

[Dapper Dog]

"Guess you don't like living," he said with a shrug.

[Yoko]

"And yet here we are, I'm not willing to attack you, and you're not willing to attack me. So," she shrugged. "What does that leave?"

[Dapper Dog]
