[Day 2 - MA] Earthy Pepper Festival [Observation Thread]

[Sutorenja]

"It's good to be able to show it when it's easy, eh? Nice to participate in things like this," she settled her hand on her hip once more. "Been spending a while myself taking in what I can while I'm here. Found the beach is pretty nice, has a good view of the water. Even a post out by the farms that's nice to just relax by for a while."

"What brings you through? In the area and hoping for the festival or?"

“Just one my way to see the Wall and see if I can assist there. At a minimum it would feel good to see something so monumental,” she said honestly.

[Kitsuki Naida]

Yuuwaku returns the grin.

"I shall look forward to receiving you."

And the blushing is cute.

A slight bow.

"For now, it looks like they're lighting the fires. I suppose that's a signal that my work is entirely done and I should go get changed. Thank you for the assistance, Kakita-san. With the towel that is. I wish you happiness and blessings in the rest of the festival, and will see you for breakfast soon?"

[Yoko]

Yoko's eyes went a touch wider, then narrowed down a little. "Hey-" she looked to Sutorenja seriously. "Something monumental is good but.. I guess I always thought you didn't have to go throw your life away down by the wall to manage that either, eh? So, if that's the minimum.. can I ask what you're hoping to find down there? Beyond just the minimum?"

[Sutorenja]

"Do my part for the Empire," she said in reply.

[Yoko]

"But there are other ways, eh? Smaller ways that build up over time?" she asked, raising her brow at the thought.

[Sutorenja]

"You think it a foolish gesture?" she asked.

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"I had not considered that, I usually just stay focused on the task I am given," she said honestly.

"That's an admirable mindset, though I wonder where that leaves you when there is no task at hand." He wasn't trying to pay, though he was curious.

"Not that there is a need to answer."

[Yoko]

"You think it a foolish gesture?" she asked.

"Eh- I just.. I always thought that when I found someone willing to do it that they'd sound more.." she shrugged, "desperate, I guess? For what it's worth, I'm sure you have your reasons and they're good.. I just- guess I've never understood them." Yoko but her lip a little in thought, "Want to try."

[Sutorenja]

"I don't understand what you mean," the ronin said to Yoko.

[Yoko]

"Samurai who go down toward the wall. Usually do it to lend aid and fight down there, eh? Hear it's just as likely to get you dead as anything else, as.. far as I've ever been told. That open offer from the Crab, do your part and join up, figured it was for people without any other options," she shrugged. "You don't look like someone with no other options. Unless it's my turn to admit I don't understand, eh?" she added with a smirk.

[Sutorenja]

"I cannot stand by while good samurai give their lives while the rest of the Empire acts as if it is not their problem," she responded.

[Yoko]

"Guess-" she let her shoulders down a little, chuckled a bit too. "Well, guess there's that one too. Not sure I.. well, I didn't quite expect to find someone like me, like you," she made pointed to herself and Sutorenja each in turn.

"Guess it wouldn't make sense to ask you if you think you're gonna make a difference, eh?"

[Sutorenja]

"Simply having the Courage to try is the first step," she responded.

[Yoko]

"I have that- I think but.. honest, I have a woman who gave up her life, she's alive, but she gave up the life she had for mine and I owe it to her. All she's wanted for me was to live a good life, eh? So, I'm trying."

[Hida Daichi]

“Only a bit of experience.” Sen looked at Daichi with a hint of caution. “I’d still put money on you, Hida-san. I would put up quite a fight, though!”

"That's the spirit Hiruma-san! Never backdown from a challenge!" he said with a full belly laugh "So what have ye been up to in the time since I've been away? Still practicing those rope snares and trapping?"

[Sutorenja]

"I have that- I think but.. honest, I have a woman who gave up her life, she's alive, but she gave up the life she had for mine and I owe it to her. All she's wanted for me was to live a good life, eh? So, I'm trying."

"Then I hope you live a good life," she said calmly.

[Yoko]

"We'll see.. eh?" she offered in her turn, and then simply shrugged.

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

[Hiruma Sen]

"That's the spirit Hiruma-san! Never backdown from a challenge!" he said with a full belly laugh "So what have ye been up to in the time since I've been away? Still practicing those rope snares and trapping?"

Sen eagerly nodded at that, “And kenjutsu! Never forget to get in some practice with that. Gotta work hard to be able to fill in for my dad eventually.”

[Doji Soon-ja]

"From what I know about the locals, that might be soon," Koemi jested. "It'd be a sight to see."

"In that case, I shall ready myself for the task," Soon-ja promised, her voice sounding utterly sincere but her smile revealing a hint of humor.

The sailor shrugged. "What, were we that adept at this that prior practice is assumed? But in all seriousness, we do have to carry things from time to time and sailing is difficult work." She massaged her shoulder a bit. "Not too often do we have to make a performance out of it though."

"Well, it is good of you and your clanmates to come all this way to witness this marriage," the elderly Crane said politely. "Our Crab hosts have clearly gone to some effort to make this the affair of the season - well, for the southern provinces, at any rate."

[Yoritomo Koemi]

"In that case, I shall ready myself for the task," Soon-ja promised, her voice sounding utterly sincere but her smile revealing a hint of humor.

"Well, it is good of you and your clanmates to come all this way to witness this marriage," the elderly Crane said politely. "Our Crab hosts have clearly gone to some effort to make this the affair of the season - well, for the southern provinces, at any rate."

"How could we miss it when two of our clan's greatest friends are celebrating such an event?" the Yoritomo asked with a warm smile, at least one that was intended on such. She relatively agreed with the sentiment, though more out of duty than actually caring about the wedding itself. "What about you? How did the travel treat you?"
