An Evening Gathering Redux (Day 4 Mid Evening)

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

The party the Mantis held was under way, an area of beach marked off and visible from afar as a series of tables and cooking fires as well as a stage. Before entering the area people from the Crew of the Sea will warn guests that while things within the area may not seem as the appear. What the see is harmless and the are encouraged to enjoy themselves.upon entering they are greeted by the following.

For the party redux Meiko has opted for a wholly different motif. Tonight the beach is illusioned to appear as the bottom of the ocean with great fish and whales swimming through the air as light filters sparkling through turquoise water.

Giant clams and coral demarcate the different sections of the gathering and the smell of fresh salt water is ever present. It's a vision of the clear water often found around the Mantis Islands, and completely different from what was provided yesterday. Something those that remember the party might recall.

Serving men and women wander through the gathered Samurai offering cups of Sake, Shochu, Tea, or water to those that arrive and their is a variety of dishes available prepared by the cooks from Shouji's ship. Other then rice and a variety of pickles it's exclusively seafood items though, prepared in the Mantis style. No entertainment has started as of yet, but if the stage is any indication there is at least some planned.

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

It had been weird preparing for a party that already happened, but the way his crew reacted like it hadn't and the budding excitement that meant they were looking forward to it made the Captain's decision for him. He had to host this thing again, drink the same wine as the day before, and well Maybe not talk to the same people. But that was of course a concern for later.

He stood to the side, a glass of sake in hand and his eyes on the the gathering samurai. This was certainly going to be somethign remember, right?

[Hida Kitusuchi]

The Crab Lord arrived with her husband quite starry eyed at the view.

Well, there was one who certainly believed it was yesterday.... Wait was it even really tomorrow if the the booze was all back? That was certainly hard to say. Still he might as well get this greeting out of the Way.

Movign towards the Governor he offered the woman a bow, cup of sake drawn in close so it didn't spill wiht the movement. "Hida-sama, I'm so happy you could make it." He turned towards the gentleman with her. "And this is your honored husband?" He asked the question, though he already knew the answer.

[Dapper Dog]

Yancho replied, “Most honored, one can hope that my children have the beauty of my darling wife and not the goat face of their handsome father.”

“Hida Yancho, a pleasure, Captain.”

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"A pleasure indeed, Hida-san." Shouji replied with a welcoming smile to the man.

"Though I should likely say I've never heard of a handsome man with a goat face. So it's something of a shocking meeting as well..." He looked the man over for a moment. "Are you sure you don't have one or the other?"

[Yoritomo Koemi]

Koemi stayed on the outskirts of the party like she had before. They were never quite her thing and, even if she had remembered the day prior, it wouldn't have surprised her that she hadn't done much that time either.

The Crane nikutai arrives to this edition of the party after missing the original, but the quality of the illusions and the rest of the event and certainly enough to trigger wide eyes in the simple soldier. By chance, he stops to stare off to one side of the area -- right close to the Mantis rigger. After another moment of reflection he notices how close she is and can't avoid conversation.

"Ah, Mantis-san, I'm sorry. I was caught up in the grandeur here," he says with a sweeping wave. "This is quite impressive. You and your comrades should be proud." After a moment: "Ah, Kakita Masao." He indicates himself. "You likely don't recall me from the journey here."

[Yue]

Yue was here once again and it seemed the Mantis were more than willing to have a party again. Maybe they were unaware? She wasn't exactly sure but found herself wary of her surroundings with her supposedly exclusive knowledge of the day. Does she play it normal or does she get brash in hopes of changing the day? It would have perhaps helped if she noticed the scenery rather than the fact that there was a gathering here.

"Oh, hello," Koemi said, apparently coming back after being lost in thought. She gave a proper bow to the man and scratched the back of her head. "The name sounds familiar. I like to keep track of who's on the ship. That being said, I don't think we ever got a proper introduction."

She glanced back at the set-up party. "Yoritomo Koemi, in case you didn't know that before. And if you're impressed by the party, you should know that we do this pretty often. Good way to endear ourselves, so I've been told."

[Kakita Masao]

"Very pleased to meet you, Yoritomo-san. Do you do all of this often?" he asks, incredulous. "I was going to suggest that your crew more regularly visit my father's court in Samui Kaze Toshi. If you regularly do this... We've been most unfortunate." The Crane sounds genuinely awed, not offended at all.

If you regularly do this... We've been most unfortunate." The Crane sounds genuinely awed, not offended at all.

"We try to impress," Koemi said, assuming he was only talking about the decorations. "Especially for a wedding. But, I admit, perhaps I am not the best to ask about the extent that we party."

[Moshi Meiko]

Meiko was there, but the Moshi was hardly bouncing at all. Instead she was perched on a giant clam and looking at the party guests with a frown, noting any who looked as confused as her.

Shouji laughed at that. "I've heard of odder things." He replied with a shake of his head. "Though if that was the case, im sure your lovely wife would of noticed."

[Hiruma Sen]

Meiko was there, but the Moshi was hardly bouncing at all. Instead she was perched on a giant clam and looking at the party guests with a frown, noting any who looked as confused as her.

“Hey.” Sen approached Meiko, a bit more shy than normal when it came to the Moshi. She looked very concerned and maybe a little confused herself. “Half-expected you to bounce around everywhere.”

[Yue]

If someone wasn't having fun here then maybe they had some inkling of what was going around? She cautiously neared the Moshi and bowed to greet her. That went double for the Hiruma as well.

[Moshi Meiko]

“Hey.” Sen approached Meiko, a bit more shy than normal when it came to the Moshi. She looked very concerned and maybe a little confused herself. “Half-expected you to bounce around everywhere.”

“Hey!”
Even depressed Meiko wiggles a little more when she sees Sen. Although it’s only a small wiggle

“I....I’m not sure I should be bouncing. I think something is wrong.”
Meiko looks around then pats a spot next to her on the Clam if Sen wanted to join.

When she spots Yue’s approach Meiko taps a spot on the other side of her, inciting the ronin up. It was time for a clamference!

Shouji laughed at that. "I've heard of odder things." He replied with a shake of his head. "Though if that was the case, im sure your lovely wife would of noticed."

“If he isn’t careful he may find himself sleeping with the goats,” she mused playfully.

[Hiruma Sen]

Sen took her spot next to Meiko after giving Yue a bow in greeting. The clam was going to be crowded. Meiko was going to be in a clam sandwich!

“So... Do you remember last night at all, Moshi-san?”

[Moshi Meiko]

“Yes! At least... I think I do...”
Dropping her voice “We uhh... partied and then went to your place and... uh, that stuff.”
Clearly worried
“Do you remember last night?”

[Yue]

"Good evening, Moshi-sama and Hiruma-sama," she said formally before sitting down at the clam with them. It was maybe an odd place to sit but apparently she was just going to be doing a lot of things during her time here and this was something she could just cross off her list, if it was there to begin with.

"Sure are a lot of parties here, never a dull moment," she said plainly.

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

“If he isn’t careful he may find himself sleeping with the goats,” she mused playfully.

"It seems you may want to attend to your wife then Hida-san." Shouji replied with a chuckle. "Rather then spend the evening chatting with me."

"If you two need something, do feel free to let me know."

The Crane's curiosity is peaked. "Is that right? I might ask why, but if you'll forgive me making the assumption, it's probably the same reason that I dislike things like this. Duty leaves little time for frivolous things, hm? And 'parties' can just be an excuse for people to do things they wouldn't otherwise." His eyes look a little steely. "Any more people than one squad of soldiers is..." He shakes his head. "And only that many if you can split them between two fires and stay by the quieter group, hm?" He makes it clear he's joking now, but everything before sounded deadly serious.
