Checking In [Day 4, LM]

[Yoko]

Yoko straightened, a dour expression on her face. "We spoke the other day, at the festival. Mom wished for me a good life, one away from the hardships I faced as a child. Yet, here I am.. stuck in this mess," she shook her head. Waving off the thought with her hand a little. "I want to live up to the woman my mother is. Which means.. even if it's going to condemn me I have to move forward in what I think is right."

"So.. I need you to be safe. We are stuck in some kind of.. it's weird, but we've lived this day before. Because of this things happened that.. didn't. So, I'm going to tell you things I shouldn't know but.. I hope that you believe me when you see how crazy they are, the things I know but shouldn't."

"You're being hunted by those that would see you fall, they are using Ikeda Ishi through deception to do it if they can, and.. I don't know who or what they hope to achieve but I know why. You are Oturi Yuahime, daughter of the Empress."

[Ikoma Ren]

Ren nods along to everything. "Yes, you yourself told me of Ikeda Ishi had been ordered to kill you. The Dread Magistrate himself was able to prove the orders false." Ren stops as the words catch up to him.

"... Wait. "

[Sutorenja]

She narrowed her eyes at Yoko and said, "You must be mistaken."

[Yoko]

Yoko stepped forward a little, brought her hands together, "Please, believe me," she said.

[Ikoma Ren]

"Please Sutorenja-san." Ren does his best. "I... Don't know about that last part. I headed off any chance that might have caused you to break your oaths and shame ancestors, but I do entreat you that you are in danger. Last night you told me that your friend, Ikeda Ishi, had been sent to kill you. Some foul magic had caused people to walk to the Waves to drown themselves, and it seems that the day is repeating itself just as it began."

"I told you the story of Shinsei's Crow and the Quail and you called it the silliest story you had ever heard. You chided me that not all villains are Scorpion. Please, does this sound like something I would make up for my own amusement? "

[Sutorenja]

She was angry and shocked, how did they know? What gave her way? Who was hunting her? Maybe this was a ploy and they were the hunters but this would be a very bad plan. She said, “I don’t know what to think… if what you say is true then what now? Why?”

“How do you know this?”

[Yoko]

Yoko looked to Ren, smiled and nodded, "Yesterday-" she shook her head, "today? I don't understand it but.. I was present when you were confronted by Ikeda Ishi-" she pauses on a thought, shakes her head, not now.

Focus again, "You were in the hall behind us, both with your blades drawn. You yourself told me who you are, and another.. Ikeda Hiro, he's here and was waiting to protect you if things went wrong. We drank together.. a little, figuring out how to fix your problem of being hunted and it seems we.." she looked between them both, "all of us wound up in an entirely different one, eh?" she chuckled, shaking her head. It wasn't the type of moment where you were supposed to find humor, but it helped the nerves.

[Ikoma Ren]

Ren lets out a long sigh, now more relief than worry. "I was not there for that, but they brought you to the meeting on the beach, along with a Ronin you never introduced. I assume that's Ikeda Hiro, then... "

Ren clears his throat." Kakita Konohamaru chided me for not keeping a better eye on you. He is the one who prevented Ikeda-san from attacking you. He also recommended that we officially petition the local authorities to allow us to formally form a warrior band. There are strange things afoot Sutorenja-san, but if this morning continues like last we may be able to prepare before the horrors begin again."

[Sutorenja]

"What horrors? This makes no sense, how can you know about things that have not yet happened?" she responded.

[Yoko]

"I really wish I knew," Yoko chuckled darkly, shaking her head. Looking to Ren the thought dawns on her, "You don't think people are going to try and walk into the ocean again, do you?" she looks to him for only a moment before she shakes her head again, "damnit."

[Ikoma Ren]

Ren points to Yoko in answer. "We don't know how but somehow the events of yesterday are repeating. I mean, exactly: the bridal party lunch and the meeting tonight are on schedule to happen, despite the meeting being a complete flop. People have greeted me the exact same way and have no memory of what happened in the last day I remember. And apart from Yoko, no one I've met seems to notice."

He shuts his eyes. "And if today is a repeat, some force will stir those in Yume-Do, sending them to sleepwalk into the ocean"

[Sutorenja]

"This is... so what do we do? How do we stop this?" she asked unsure of even the words she was saying.

[Yoko]

"Last time we were able to pull the sleepwalkers from the water, others stopped them in other ways to bring people to their senses. That's.. that's at least how we know we can stop losing more people, eh? So- knowing that we also have to figure out why we're even in this mess, what the cause of it all was, but.. well.. gotta figure out who knows, who doesn't, and who's in the most danger first."

[Ikoma Ren]

"Well, that is the short term solution, but we have no way to know if we would snap back again tomorrow morning.", Ren frowns. "I know they aren't fond of me, but I think we need the local authorities"

[Sutorenja]

"But if we tell them and say it does not get resolved if I understand this, will they not forget again on the morrow?" she said confused.

"That sounds insane just saying that."

She then added with shock, "You said Ikeda Hiro-sensei is here?"

[Yoko]

"Ooh, I-" she laughed, shaking her head. "Yea, he is far as I saw him yesterday. Seemed.. well, the situation was tense when he showed up I almost wasn't certain if you knew he was here or not, but yea, not sure the name he's going by, ronin, so doing the same as you maybe? At least- he seemed to be keeping an eye on you. Might even be right now," she shrugged.

"As for the authorities.. maybe unless they too begin to remember like me and Ikoma-sama here, eh?" she said, glancing between the two, shrugged again. "Beats me with both sides of the stick," she chuckled, that last part sounded ridiculous.

[Ikoma Ren]

Ren shrugs. "Two days ago they were hassling people on the concept of witchcraft. Suggesting that the issue is a result of witchcraft might make sense to them. If anything, I can't see if it hurts."

[Sutorenja]

"I will go with you, just in case," Sutorenja offered.

[Yoko]

"While you two go do that.. there's another half to this that I should go check on, eh?" she said, glancing between the two of them.

[Ikoma Ren]

"You mean, with our Ikeda friend?"

[Yoko]

"Yea- just.. wanna make sure she's alright, eh?" she said, smiling a little. Shaking her head. "Anyway, good first steps for now I think? See who we can figure out is aware of all this, get to thinking through, figure out what we know?"

[Ikoma Ren]

Ren nods. "If you can head her off with Doji Komohsmaru-sama you might have more time to fix the issue as well"

[Yoko]

"I'm-" she smiled, shook her head. "Don't worry, Ikoma-sama. I've got a plan, eh?"

[Ikoma Ren]

Ren nods, "I'll trust you Tomo-san. Just... check with your mother? We could really use you. "

[Yoko]

"Not sure how possible that is-" she gives a wave of her hand, "you know, with all this? Still remember though, eh?"
