When I started reading the first option, I momentarily became excited that the Emperor might exile him through Sorrow' Path out of the Empire. I've never seen a game where that's happened, so I thought it would be neat, since that's one of those places I've known about in L5R lore for ages but never had anything to do with. Plus, with the preview for next game being people coming from the north, seemed like the perfect opportunity; Traitor is exiled from the Empire to the north, meets up with savage warrior; They find out about the luxurious empire to the south, and he tags along with them on a secret quest for revenge!
