[Day 7 - MA] The Real Hunt

[Hida Fuboshi]

In the afternoon Fuboshi has brought a group of samurai out tot eh Hinterlands to do some hunting. They have decided into two groups, one will be led by Doji Kintaro and Hida Yoji and will be hunting typical game and nothing overly dangerous. Yuahime has decided to join this group while Fuboshi will be leading a smaller hunting team to go after a boar and bring home something sporting.

OOC: The Fuboshi thread is limited to 3 additional members and the other Hunting thread is unlimited.

[Hida Fuboshi]

"We hunt boar, and I ain't your moms, you slow me down, you get left behind," she grunted as she sharpened her spear.

[Toritaka Hanatsuko]

"Yes, Hida sama." She said in militaristic tone. Hana was ready for battle with bow and sword and lightly armored. "Hear that Kuma and Sari, we hunting boars."

[Ichiro Taiki]

The large Badger approaches with a large smile, bowing first to his cousin, then to the Falcon.

"Hida Juushi-sama, Toritaka-san, 's me greit plait tae be heer!". Then, his head still low and using a more militaristic tone, turning to Fuboshi. "Hida-sama, ye ken A wouldnae miss this fer anythin'. Ye lead, A follow."

[Kakita Masao]

Expecting to get some abuse from the provincial governor, Kakita Masao attends her hunt in armor and with dai tsuchi at the ready. He looks rather like a mid-size Crab bushi, just with the armor a lighter blue and the facial features, visible as he's left the helm at home, more refined.

"Hida-dono," he says, bowing deeply, "this one is Kakita Masao of the Iron Warriors, here to respectfully aid your hunt on behalf of your Crane allies."

After she's done with him, he greets the others. He's both happily surprised to see Hanatsuko and wishing she wasn't doing something dangerous, but he swallows all of that and instead introduces himself to the shaggy mountain of Badger. "Ichiro-san, I'm honored to meet you. Kakita Masao, nikutai of the Iron Warriors." An appropriate bow.

[Hida Fuboshi]

“Well if we run into some ogres we might stand half a chance, if that’s how you hunt… then that’s how you hunt. We going for boar, there’s a bigg’un that’s been causing problems with the peasants. We find it and we kill it, you die, well I’ll be sure to get your blades back to whatever squealing mother you have,” she responded.

OOC: She roll 7k4 for Hunting or someone else can take the lead with a Hunting + Perception check at TN 20 to get the trail of the Big Boar. If you decide to take the lead you gain .3 Glory if you succeed on this check. Raises could be used to get an advantageous position on the creature.

[Toritaka Hanatsuko]

Hanatsuko took point sending Kuma and Sari to aid in tracking the beasts down. "Hida sama this way."

[Hida Fuboshi]

"Bout damn time," she grumbled as she followed Hanatsuko.

"What's your story anyway, Falcon?" she asked.

[Toritaka Hanatsuko]

"Woking in hunting evil spirits in Shinonen Mori and sometimes small game. I was following a spirit and ended up in Fire Shrimp Village. Seemed that the village needed someone of my expertise around. Fortune's luck." She continued forward looking at her falcon and following her dog.

[Hida Fuboshi]

"Oh? Hunting ghosts at the beach?" she responded.

[Toritaka Hanatsuko]

"Yes Ma'am" She nodded as the hunt continued. "I saw the ghost army in the beach amongst other things." She continued her focus on the beast that they were trying to slain.

[Hida Fuboshi]

“I never seen nothing and you see a bloody ghost army,” she said chuckling darkly.

“What about you, Crane, I know your score cousin. Hope this goes better than your words at the dinner. Hida’s balls you prattled on like a priss ass courtier. So speak up Crane, good to know your story before this boar ruins your guts.”

[Kakita Masao]

Masao bites back a sarcastic comment about the Crab Lord's confidence in him. Like Hanatsuko, he keeps it brief.

"No courtier training for this one, Hida-dono. I've been proud to serve in the Iron Warrior legions, being promoted to nikutai 14 months from gempukku, and to rescue my wounded brother from the battlefield just a few months ago. My honored father, Kakita Haruka, governor of Cold Wind City, saw fit to send me to represent our line here. Daidoji Yushoko-sama is a direct cousin, so it is quite an honor." Masao adjusts his grip on the dai tsuchi and keeps his wary eyes to their flanks as he confidently follows Hanatsuko.

[Hida Fuboshi]

"Well you are practically family then, good to hear," she responded focusing her good eye on him.

"Made of firm stuff, them Iron Warriors. I know from experience," she said chuckling darkly at an old memory.

[Kakita Masao]

"Hai, Hida-dono. We try to be just as tough as the Hida heavy infantry, which is a storied example to follow."

[Dapper Dog]

After she's done with him, he greets the others. The Ichiro is also clad in heavy armour and carries an Ono. Hida Fuboshi probably laughs at him as well - but the same joke isn't as funny when told the third time, so she's probably used to his often weird ways by now.

After the Kakita's word, the Ichiro bows a bit lower than the Crane does, as appropriate for a Minor Clan samurai. "Plait tae meit ye also, Kakita-sama. May the Fortun's o' th' winds 'en persistence guide us the'day!"

As the Toritaka leads the hunt, he keeps steady behind her, moving intently despite the Heavy Armor, Ono in hand carried seemingly almost effortlessly.

The boar is found drinking from a stream and it's a big one.

OOC: The boar is currently at 40 feet from the group, due to the Hunting roll they can make a Stealth + Agility check at TN 15 to get within 20 feet of they so choose. Currently it does not know you are there. It is currently in Defense Stance with ATN 23.

Hana moved toward the closest tree in a steady motion. She decided to climb the tree to have a vantage point from the boar.

The boar is angry at being ambushed and charged at the Boar samurai ready to do vicious harm!

OOC: Two simple Moves to cover the distance, now it is Initiative 30 to go.

[Ichiro Taiki]

As the Boar rushes close, Taiki springs into motion, swirling the Ono around and putting his weight behind a heavy, low strike, hitting the beast's legs squarely and with outstanding strength, with a loud kiai shout.

The cut is not as deep as he hoped, but he hopes the strike may sweep the boar off its feet as he planned, and waits for the strike's result before deciding whether to take a step back or not.
