The Empress pulls her forces from the southern border to engage the invaders, this leaves the Crab to face the onslaught of the Shadowlands alone and will lead to a massive breach that will lay waste to much of their territories.

Just so fortunate that they have allies to sell them rice and, you know, perhaps reintegrate the second half of the Daidoji.

Phoenix Shogun

A talented bushi in his youth, Gojiyasu transitioned to a command role in his later years and proved himself a canny and unpredictable commander. His tactics have kept some of the worst predations of the Mantis at bay and under his leadership the Phoenix navy has expanded. Given that he is a Phoenix he has a great understanding of utilizing shugenja for military purposes.

As the attacks from the Sea Demons mounted the Phoenix, along with the Lion and Unicorn petitioned for reinstatement of the role of the Shogun and he was given the title after his name was put forward from a short list of viable candidates. His strategy is two pronged, lightning surgical strikes against weak points in the enemy and working closely with the Scorpion envoys to find a diplomatic solution. He hopes to break the will of the enemy to continue aggression and then find a way to peaceful coexist, not the most popular idea with the Lion or more traditional minded Rokugani but as he has the final say they follow his lead.

After the seizing of Vaulkenborg, Shiba Gojiyasu uses it as his headquarters as he continues his campaign in the North while the Empress and Emerald Champion protect the homeland.
