Get his lord more reliant on him. It was either finding someone to marry Masao or find something that heals Kitora, with a greater priority to someone to marry Masao to because it makes things easier for Sanaharu to get married as well.

He achieved a shugenja willing to go check if his brother is tainted and Masao really fell hard for someone, but he is not going to even suggest his lord marry Hanatsuko and Masao.

It is a sad puppy.

As much I would love to keep a fox to myself, I'm probably marrying him to my sister so my mother can retire and he can live somewhere to access to woodlands

I would find funny that the shugenja they send would be Hanatsuko's sister.
