Wedding at Fire Shrimp Village an L5R PbP

Ren tries to make sure that he is mostly put together as he approaches. He is about to say something crazy, and appearing as composed as possible in the process would be key.

"Hello there." He addresses the guard. "I am looking for Hiruma Jinzo. I am hoping to seek his guidance, relating to his recent searches."

The guards give him a hard time but they let him by, his ronin yojimbo quietly following.

Ren doesn't seem to notice that the guards are hassling him, responding with a bit overly nice compliments about their duty and seems blithely unaware to any insult. Allowed through, he goes looking for the Hiruma with the slightly off manner.

He is in his office looking over a few forms and said, "Oh... I as just going to look for you... well I thought it about it. Ikoma Ren, right? Are you sure you're not a witch, a perfectly upstanding Bayushi said you were."

"Well, I would again ardently profess, that I am not. In fact, I may be the victim of witchcraft. "

Both statements happened to be perfectly true.

"I worry that some supernatural force is at work. When I awoke this morning, I had memories of a complete day that had already transpired, a day that ended with a magical snare luring the villages to sleepwalk into the waves at the dock. I have met one other who could remember it as well. I felt that I must inform the authority who was already fighting the supernatural. "

"So you are saying that you lived this day already?" he said with a look of confusion.

"Seems a little early for shoju, Ikoma-san."

Ren chuckles, "Normally I would disagree, but I find myself unfortunately sober today."

His expression turns serious. "I am serious though. Things have continued nigh exactly as before. You're planning to investigate the ronin meeting tonight, thinking that there will be a swarm. You use a green fan to signal that there is no trouble, because more curious Clan samurai show up than ronin."

"Green? I thought it was more the color of the sea," he said with a curious look.

"You have an astounding insight into my future plans, what do I plan to give my wife on her nameday?"

Ren sighs. "Feel free to investigate with others to see if they have encountered the same thing. I have no doubt that they exist, though I know of no ryhme or reason behind it. Perhaps it will be a useful query in your witch hunting. Just please heed my warning that people may be called to the sea tonight in their sleep. "

Ren looks over to Sutorenja. "While I am here, I would like to set your mind at ease about the stories of Ronin meeting tonight. I myself called it together, looking to attract a band to resolve a Lion issue. If you find yourself of extra muscle, ones that do not risk your men, it could be a useful tool for you as well."

"You are offering me arrow fodder?" he replied.

Ren keeps his on in place "They indeed would be likely willing to face dangers and be a front line in place of your men. If I am right about what is to come, then would you not prefer that they take the initial brunt? Recruitment becomes easier if there is official backing, and if I am wrong then is there a service to hire us for?"

Ren offers a smile. "Consider it a bet on whether I suspect I'm right in my suspicions if you like"

"Bring your ronin to the courtyard tomorrow afternoon for inspection," he responded.

Ren bows. "I will bring who I can find"

"Anything else you need me for?" he asked.

"Just to reiterate my suggestion to canvas your men to see if anyone has experienced what I have. I hope to see your tomorrow Hiruma-sama"

Ren bows and prepares to leave
