[Day 8 - EN] Patches in the Light (Expecting)

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

"Nothing," she says. "Not a damned thing. And nobody's looking, anyway," she adds.

[Asahina Sanaharu]

This gets him surprised.
"...How come so nothing?"
He looks to the Empress again. And to the magistrate at her side.

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

"Tonight, here, now," Yuuwaku says, "nothing would happen. Even if someone made a comment, you and I have both been seen to drink. And that would excuse it, the more so with no harm done.

"And, again, who would look to us with them there?"

[Asahina Sanaharu]

"I don't think that drinks excuse it to anyone other than our allies, and the people that would want to hurt us would not have been in this list. With the exception of that Tsuruchi, but he is totally not someone that would want to be near me."

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

"The Tsuruchi?" Yuuwaku asks. "What happened with him?"

[Asahina Sanaharu]

"Ah, I remember telling it to you, but you just told me to forget it."

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

"Oh. That. Well."

She shakes her head.

"Things happen. Move ahead. It's all any of us can do."

[Asahina Sanaharu]

He nods, his face recovered, taking his fan from covering it. "Talking about that night... Did you find someone for Masao-ue?"

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

"I believe he found someone for himself," Yuuwaku says. "And it's lovely to see."

[Asahina Sanaharu]

"I definitively will let him sort the details out with his father by himself."

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

Yuuwaku nods.

"That's for the best. And I will hope that he remains a younger son, as well."

[Asahina Sanaharu]

"I didn't know Kitora more than I know him, which is little, but this I do hope as well."

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

Yuuwaku nods again.

She looks out over the ongoing celebration.

"I hope Daidoji-senpai is happy with her husband."

[Asahina Sanaharu]

He nods. "You aren't angry with me, are you?" He then asks side-eyeing. "The sadane thing. Ill of my part, I know."

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

Yuuwaku waves a hand nonchalantly. "Already forgotten, Sana-kun."

[Asahina Sanaharu]

He smiles slightly. "Thank you very much. Do you have anyone to talk to this evening still?"

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

"Not so much, no," she says. "I think we've largely done our part at this point, Sana-kun. And that's not without its merits."

[Asahina Sanaharu]

He nods thankful. "Yuu-chan, do you think it is a good idea to bring Kojimasu with us? He really seemed to enjoy me."

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

Yuuwaku looks at him, and her brow furrows.

"I...am uncertain," she says. "If he is what you say he is, he is...perilous because we do not know him. And his enjoyment of you...I do not know how it will go."

Because her mind works in such ways, after all.

[Asahina Sanaharu]

"Part of why I wanted to bring him with us. The way to Lonely Shore City passes through the Asahina lands. I would probably leave him there, the shugenja will know better how to deal with him."

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

"Perhaps," Yuuwaku concedes. "Although I had not thought your Family specialized in working with such creatures.

"And, really, handsome as he is, I worry that many would fall to his charms."

[Asahina Sanaharu]

"And it does not, we are artisans and... Oh, the shugenja deal as well with astrology... If today if truly the day you say, then how many days did it pass on the skies? Surely they would be the most confused. We need to stop by Asahina Shinden. I do believe they will know better how to deal with a spirit than the Hida in this forest."

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

Yuuwaku nods.

"The usual response does seem to be 'shove something green into it.'"

She laughs at the rough jest.

[Asahina Sanaharu]

He hides his chuckle between his fan. "It's not much more than a talking animal, I think. I don't think it would complain from just throwing him into a forest."

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

"That's a dangerous assumption," Yuuwaku replies. "I know you know the stories, and they're why I urge you to be careful."
