Whistles the Wind (Day 0 Late Evening.)

[Yoritomo Katsu]

Katsu grunted, folding his hands in front of him. "Alright." He said. Someone had to keep an eye out, and make sure no one fell overboard. Or talked too much about plowing. He glanced at Koemi, identifying her as the source of the linguistic slip. It seemed to be working out... but Katsu still suspected he knew who would be getting a shift on scrubbing duty tomorrow.

He gave the Imperial a bow. "If you're looking for shoju, Otomo-sama we've got it. And sake." He gave a short laugh. "In fact, if you can drink it, there's a fair chance we're carrying it."

[Otomo Yusuke]

"And what would you drink?" he asked of the First Mate.

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"Admirers?" The Captain replied thoughtfully, his gaze moving over the ladies in the crowd. Nah, it likely wasn't anyone here. He didn't want to bug the Otomo with questions either so let it be.

Holding out his cup for another drink he smiled at his navigator. "Just don't let me drink too fast, Minari."

[Moshi Minari]

"Good grief," she murmured over all the talk of plowing. Had they been that long out at sea that people wanted to sleep with the captain? Seeing Shouji's eyes wander she shook her head. "Don't even think about it," she said with a dry laugh as he looked at her.

It was best to occupy herself with drinking. Katsu had warned her once of getting too sassy with the Imperial guests around, so it had been quite a challenge of shutting up so far.

"Should we break out the dice as well for a game?" Since the topic was finally steering away from 'farmwork'.

[Yoko]

"Oh please, this is going to make my week," she mumbled to herself. Smiling brightly as she glanced from the Otomo to Katsu whom started the very process of getting the Otomo his drink. "Hope you all don't mind if I join good and proper, then? This seems like.." she smirked, shook her head as she chuckled a few, "a once in a lifetime opportunity," she chuckled a few more harsh notes.

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"It's not like I want to kiss a kiseru either, Minari." Shouji offered with a chuckle in return to the navigator, at least things seemed safe there.

The Ronin's question received a nod from the Captain, as long as the Otomo didn't object she was welcome to join. It was as she said a once in a lifetime opportunity.

"The dice? I don't mind." He continued glancing back towards Minari. "As long as our guest is alright with it that is?" He looked towards the Otomo.

[Otomo Yusuke]

"I would never turn away an eager face, Yoko-san," he said warmly with a smile.

[Yoritomo Katsu]

"Drinks all 'round, then." Katsu grunted. "I'll see that the tally's adjusted." He did some quick counting on his fingers. "We'll want to take on supplies here. Good. Crab wine will keep us afloat on the trip back."

He shrugged to the Otomo. "I'll just have a cup of whatever's opened." Katsu was not much of a partyer. A quick bow, and he slipped belowdecks, out of the scene for the moment.

[Yoritomo Koemi]

"Eh?" Koemi murmured in regards to the Moshi, well, one of the Moshi's responses to her flexing. She scratched her head in thought before deciding to let it pass.

Her attention shifted to her kouhai. "Ah, I know! Don't try to steal my job aboard the ship though." Her fingers traced one of her head-containing bags. "Unless you're hoping to take on all of my duties."

She turned a bit pink at the further discussion of plowing. A laugh escaped her and, once more, she was in a fit of awkward, uncontrollable chortling. She downed her liquor and, except for one last laugh, recomposed herself. "I don't know if Katsu-sama knows how to relax."

[Otomo Yusuke]

"A leader rarely has the luxury of relaxation," he said dryly.

[Yoko]

"Well, guess that's just about the best reason for hiring me on then, eh? Cause I do. Dice, drinks, and an Otomo, Otomo-sama thank you for a night I will surely remember in bits and pieces for years and years," she said, clapping her hands together with her harsh laugh. Glancing then over to Shouji, "And you too, Tsuruchi-sama. Wouldn't have found this chance without you too," she chuckled a little more.

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

The Otomo's words received a nod. "If Katsu wasn't here, and we weren't so close to shore i wouldn't be doing any relaxing myself." The Captain admitted with a glance down at his cup.

Koemi's blush and laughter received a wide smile from the Captain, apparently he didn't mind the weird laughs of two of the women on board. "It's always nice to have an extra hand, especially with a lot of guests on board." Shouji offered to Yoko. "You've done some good work for us, even if it's not what you're used to."

[Yoritomo Tetsuo]

"A cup of whatever is strongest then, Otomo-sama, if I may." Being extra polite was what the captain and Katsu-sama said, and that is what he would do! So he would do so!

"Don't worry Koemi-senpai! I'm not looking for your job, I just want to learn everything to do on the ship, so when I'll have my own, I know what to do everywhere." He nodded seriously. "Besides, I don't want to weighed down by the many many heads I'll acquire."

[Moshi Meiko]

Meiko just sits happily soaking in the conversation and the atmosphere, clearly happy if everyone else was happy. At one point she even dares a sit of alcohol and ends up wrinkling her whole face into a grimace. Gosh that stuff was nasty.

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"It's gonna take more then just one sip to finish an entire sake, Meiko." Shouji offered to the Moshi as he saw her face after the first sip. Was this revenge for the marriage comment? Maybe.

Raising his glass towards the diminutive Moshi, he grinned. "Cheers." He offered before taking a sip of his own

[Yoko]

"Just happy to keep my hands working," she said with a smooth smile and a nod toward the Captain. Before she knew it, his hand was on a drink and it was raised. Never let a toast go un-joined, that was the first rule far as she was concerned, and raised her bottle toward the Moshi. "Kampai," she joined, language barriers mattered little.

Taking her drink she stopped at what seemed a half-way point, brought the bottle down and peered into it. Giving it a little shake, "Damnit.." she muttered inwardly.

[Moshi Meiko]

"Kampai!"
Meiko hurriedly swallows her whole glass in one go and immediately starts coughing as her eyes tear up.
"I think my glass was dirty...someone must have left some varnish in the bottom or something."
Oh it burned! It burned!

[Yoritomo Tetsuo]

"Ie Meiko-san, that's how just it works. See?" He finished his one go, and then held it out again. "Next please!"

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"We have enough to share if you brought a cup to share, Yoko-san." The Captain offered, with a grin towards the ronin. It was hard to keep from laughing at Meiko but he managed, instead just offering the Moshi a cheerful smile.

"Tetsuo is right, this type of stuff is supposed to taste just like varnish. It's one of the selling points. That and how strong it is." He reached for one of the bottles to start providing refills. "One cup of these is like three cups of sake."

[Yoritomo Katsu]

Katsu returned, bringing up one more bottle. "Which is good. Space is at a premium on these ships, so efficient alcohol is good alcohol."

He moved to join the rest of the group. "Just so long as someone who usually drinks three cups of sake doesn't drink three cups of this. And then thinks they can scale the mainmast. Eh, Tetsuo-san?" He gave the small man a significant look, grey eyes narrowing.

[Moshi Meiko]

"Ie Meiko-san, that's how just it works. See?" He finished his one go, and then held it out again. "Next please!"

"We have enough to share if you brought a cup to share, Yoko-san." The Captain offered, with a grin towards the ronin. It was hard to keep from laughing at Meiko but he managed, instead just offering the Moshi a cheerful smile.

"Three cups?!?! But I've never had 3 cups of sake before."

"I might do something crazy like Tetsuo-san."

[Yoritomo Tetsuo]

"Eh, Katsu-sama, I don't remember anything going bad at that time." Granted, there was little he could remember. Something about yelling KING OF THE SEAS, and waving a bottle?

Oh, now he recalled falling facefirst into the deck.

Ah, and then the Moshi refused to ask the kami to help him.

Oh.

"Oh, it did." Only one thing to do in response then.

He drank another cup.

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"We'll be sure to keep you away from the mainmast this time." Shouji offered to Tetsuo with a smirk, turning slightly to Katsuo to give the older man a nod of appreciation. The Moshi was probably more of the worry though, and he eyed her for a few moments.

"It could be! Though maybe you're more of a cuddly drunk instead?" It would be amusing to see the Moshi climb into Koemi's lap."We'll find out soon enough either way." He finished with a grin.

[Otomo Yusuke]

The Otomo observed and just winked at the ronin when she tried the booze. But otherwise he was content to enjoy the Mantis in their native environment.

[Yoritomo Koemi]

"Space is indeed a premium aboard a ship," Koemi commented, clearly territorial. Still, she offered a smile to the present Otomo. It was supposed to be pleasant, though she was the sort to rarely accomplish that. "An Imperial delegation is the most important responsibility I've had my whole life."

She eyed her empty cup then lowered it, keeping her fingers and palm to conceal its contents. The appearance of partaking but clear disinterest in continuing to anyone who noticed.
