Day 0 (October 16th to October 18th)

Red Sands Coast: The weather is pleasant if warm, with wispy clouds in the sky and a breeze coming in off the waters. The village is busy with folks getting ready for the visiting samurai. The Inn is being cleaned from top to bottom, the castle is rechecking stores, and the villagers are making sure all is ready. Workers commit some last minute repairs to the Blue Bird House and the in the afternoon and evening hours the fishermen bring their catch in.
Sparrow Lands: The brown hills and brush surrounding the village are baked by the hot son, it is unseasonably warm. There are few clouds and little tree cover, besides the Old Meeting Tree which seems to be popular today. While samurai are more refined it is not common for peasant men and women to lower their tops and fan themselves on this hot spring day.
Crane Lands: A misty hazy drizzle sets in by the evening hours, but the temperature is pleasant. The Inn has plenty of cover to stay dry and the staff are all smiles as they attend to their duties. The special of the day is a miso soup, served with spiced veggies and noodles. Beyond is the last Crane checkpoint and then the lands of the Crab.
Out at Sea: The weather is warm as the kobune rocks back and forth on lazy waves. Every now and then one can see a pod of dolphins racing alongside the craft and if one is lucky even see them leap into the air and then back into the dark waters. The crew is finishing their afternoon and evening duties before they sit down to some rations for dinner.
GM's Notes: There is no rolling on Day 0, scenes should take place in the Afternoon to Night hours and the date is the 7th day of the 3rd Month, in 1178. Remember the time slots are Early, Mid, and Late Afternoon; Early , Mid, and Late Evening; and Early, Mid, and Late Night.
