[Day 1 - MA] Not Completely Terrible

[Otomo Saisei]

Saisei nods to Masao's words, adding a counter thought, " Kakita-sama's concern has deep roots, and a sour aftertaste. Yet, all Clans have been friendly and attentive to the guidance Imperial families of lately. Actions of the past that have been honored ought to be respected."

He nods again, "I am humbled with such statement and pleased once more of how well spoken and appreciate this one's master is. I'll make sure he learns of Kakita-sama's and his father welcoming dispositions."

After a moment, he asks, "Is Kakita-sama already married, or has potential matches he thinks would be at the level of my masters skills?"

Masao bows his head respectfully. "Otomo Saisei-san raises a subject of importance. A humble soldier should never claim importance enough for an imperial nakodo's attentions. However, as I am also my honored father's son and..." He pauses to collect himself.

"My apologies, Otomo-san. It has in recent months become much more probable that I could be the next lord of Cold Wind City, though I pray to the Fortunes every day that this will not be the case." He takes another moment to compose himself. "And although I know you would inquire only politely, and allow me the courtesy to not respond, let me be very plain: The war that we are all here to end has been most unkind to my family. One brother dead, one brother grievously wounded, and now the possibility that this youngest brother may inherit his father's governorship. I pray that my brother will recover well, and live a good long life as lord of Cold Wind City." He bows his head and offers an extra, silent prayer to the Fortunes today.

[Otomo Saisei]

Saisei closes his eyes knowing all too well the grievances of losing family members due war. "Kakita-sama can count on my prayers. As unworthy as they are to the Fortunes.

[Kakita Masao]

"Thank you, Otomo-san." He sighs. "So you can see, given the uncertainty, where my situation with regard to seeking a wife is... complicated. If your honored cousin should have any advice on how best to approach this circumstance, his counsel would be much appreciated."

[Otomo Saisei]

The Imperial takes note and nods once again, "I will inform him of the situation and politely ask for any potential advice he would like to provide."

[Kakita Masao]

"Arigato, Otomo-san. And my apologies for monopolizing your time here. Perhaps we might speak again in a couple of days, to maintain this fine partnership and share what we are each learning?" Now when Masao smiles, it is warmer and more genuine.

[Otomo Saisei]

"I am the one to thank you, instead, Kakita-sama. It has been a great honor and the invested time will surely be useful in the future. Indeed, let's talk more in the following days." He provides a bow to the man and lifts himself up to depart.
