"Hmmm... that depends, Hida-san; I am unsure what would surprise a Hida, after all. Being from so far away, we rarely get any Crab in Dragon lands, even in southern Kitsuki or Mirumoto lands. What would you expect from a Mirumoto trained bushi?"

The Crab in the room can see the charming husband of Kitusuchi give his attentions to the Dragon. Most ignore it but Yoji is puzzled and confused on if he should do something or not.

Meanwhile the Hida chuckled and said, “I expect something different, the children of the Dragon are never straight forward, they are puzzles that one has to decipher very carefully to get the full meaning of. A koan that must be unwrapped with great care or something will be lost.”

Yue gave a gesture to the Hida and the congregation of celebration that was happening around him. "...I'm here for the wedding now, I think I just found out that I was here for that after I stepped foot here. At first, I was just following the large crowd of people in hopes of chasing some work. I'm still looking for work, of course. Maybe one of the locals will have something here for me."

"Well, that sounds all a bit familiar! I do that too, you know, find my way places and figure out where I'm supposed to be, like there's a calling somewhere," she said with a big-proud grin.

"But hey, you find any work that needs an extra sword let me know, eh? I'll do the same..." she brought her hand to her chest a second, steadied herself a little. Made a little uncomfortable sound but pushed on, "Uh, what kinda work might you be looking for Yue-san?"

[Kitsuki Naida]

Naida didn't know the Hida by name, so she had no idea who he was. And she certainly hadn't noticed the groom looking their way; She had conversation and a well made bun that she was worried about getting cold while she tried to be politely social.

“Please by all means, don’t let me stop your meal,” he responded gesturing to her bun.

“I cannot say I have great skill in the sword, but I admire those that do. Perhaps I could observe your stance in the coming days, and see if it matches the perfection of your eyes,” he said with a coy smile.

That NEARLY got a laugh out of Naida. Oh, she realized he meant more aesthetic qualities, but her blasted vision problems made the compliment feel dreadfully ironic in her mind. Still, that probably wasn't as amusing to anyone else, she she kept any dry mirth inside.

"I do not mind showing off the perfection of my stance. Surely more perfect than mere eyes, I must say."

A small pause; She picked up the bum in its wrapping but did not take another bite yet.

"You mentioned no great skill with the sword; Is Hida-san no a bushi by duty then?"

[Fuzake Hifumi]

Hifumi made her offering of coin and joined the festivities. She wasn't interested in participating in the various competitions that sprung up between attendees throughout the evening, but she was certainly willing to watch everything.

Himeko brought up her fan to hide a chuckle.

"Such a charmer Otomo-sama. I am Shosuro Himeko, It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm certain the hosts will approve of your words, although perhaps not right now. Still, if today is an indication of the days to come, the celebrations will be ones to watch, ne?"

She brought her cup up to take another tiny sip.

"Have you attended many Crab gatherings in your time, Otomo-sama?"

His cheeks turn slightly red. Alcohol and all that jazz, for sure. The young Otomo replies, clearly happy for the compliment, but trained just enough not make it blatantly visible he only had dreams that one day he would have to exchange cheers and smirks behind fans with a Scorpion beauty while drinking sake.

He shrugs, saying, “Perhaps in previous lives I would have. Or so I hope. This is the first event I attend away from the lands of the Otomo. Quite a debut to weave some good stories, is it not?”

[Hida Daichi]

A long, thick shadow would fall over the man as the imposing form of Hida Daichi pulled up behind him "Yancho-kun! Its been too long, hows my sister doing!?" The loud brash Crab was one of action so while his brother deliberated and looked confused Daichi acted.

He moved around the man and regarded him with a too friendly smile, especially too friendly for the dangerous look in his eyes, eyes that lost their edge when he looked to the Dragon present, no animosity there, she had done nothing wrong "Dragon-san, apologies for interrupting, I just haven't seen my brother in law for a long time. This one is Hida Daichi, pleasure to meet you." The massive Crab bowed and his mismatched eye sparkled with a good natured mirth entirely different from the sharp edge they held looking at Yancho.

He smiled, but it was a weak smile and he said, "Of course. I was just entertaining our guests, have you met this charming Kitsuki? Trained by the Mirumoto, she is."

"Oh Daichi-kun, ever the charming heart of the party. I had hoped your sister would be here, but alas she has so many duties."

[Toritaka Hanatsuko]

Hanatsuko took a seat somewhere trying not to interrupt any of the ongoing conversations.

Dressed appropriately but quite tamely compared to some of the other attendants, his long hair braided, a shiner in the making on his face, Yuma sat quietly in a corner, observing the very diverse people around and listening to their conversations.

Yue looked a bit skeptical when it comes to being here due to a calling and certainly didn't have the well of enthusiasm that Yoko about it either. "The work in my area mostly dried up, and they weren't exactly looking to have ronin without work hanging around."

She gave a shrug, it wasn't a new story to tell in her circumstance.

"Oh, you're not working for the ship that brought you in then?" she asked curiously. "I'm looking for any sort of work that would pay me at the moment. I usually do hunting work. The inn will keep me fed and dry, with chores, they said. I do want to make some money for when I'm back on the road. It's never bad to have money on hand, right? They'll probably kick out most of us after this."

[Yoko]

"Nah, I am just-" she shook her head, waved her hand as well. "Not that.. solid? I'm free to get other work in, our arrangements something a little.. well, different than that," she waved her hand again. "But no, never bad to have some money on hand, eh? Why I'm always a mind for some extra work," she said, tapping her hip about where she stored a number of things.

"Guess, look at the situation with me and the ship like you and the inn, eh? Sorta," she waved her hand a bit again. "Anyway, could be that some of the Mantis I came in with might have need for a skilled hunter, eh? Something for them to do while they're here and stuck on dry land. I can pass the thought along next time I catch one of them?" she quirked a brow as she asked.

[Togashi Keigo]

Yuuwaku makes her way around the tables, looking for likely conversation. Her motions remain lithe and graceful, with the uplifted mood her kohai has provided buoying her up, as well.

It really is a nice night, she thinks, and one worth indulging.

Oh, thank the kami. There was someone he had spoken to before. Keigo crossed away from the lively goings-on, seeking out the Crane woman who'd hosted lunch a few days ago. "Kakita-sama, good evening! It's nice to see you again." He looked a little flushed, or was it embarrassment?

Yuuwaku turns at being addressed, sees who it is, and smiles with a graceful bow.

"Togashi-san, it is nice! I so enjoyed your company on the road, and I'm glad to resume it now."

Her eyes dance over him.

"Is everything well with you?"

[Yoritomo Tetsuo]

Yoji chuckled and said, "Join us, just Yoji is fine. My mother is Hida-sama."

"Sure Yoji-san. Please call me Tetsuo then." He followed the man-mountain. "What are ypu drinking?"

[Yue]

"Oh, just like the inn, then. Yeah," she said with a few nods, finally understanding at their arrangements.

"I wouldn't say that I'm that skilled..." she admittedly with a sigh, and rambled off a few animals, "I can catch rabbits, voles, rats, squirrels and the like. Foxes and dholes, sometimes. I hunted a deer once."

It was quite a few things but at least that set the bar in case they had wild imaginations. Boar, bears and wolves were a whole another matter. She would have to be desperate or the money had to be really good for really big game.

[Asahina Sanaharu]

Sanaharu took it the only way he could, because the other meaning could not even cross his Crane head. Well, that was a rather direct request, but Crabs were that way.
"Well, it is indeed alone, but it also needs somewhere to sing and a pretty cage first. It would be much easier to join the Nightingale where he lives, indeed."

[Togashi Keigo]

Yuuwaku turns at being addressed, sees who it is, and smiles with a graceful bow.

"Togashi-san, it is nice! I so enjoyed your company on the road, and I'm glad to resume it now."

Her eyes dance over him.

"Is everything well with you?"

The alcohol made him perhaps more bluntly honest that he might have been otherwise. "As am I with yours. Your company is a gift for eyes and ears," he replied pleasantly. "Ah... Aside from saying embarrassing things in public here, it's been an interesting trip thus far. And yourself?"

[Ikoma Ren]

There is cheering and laughter from the other room, and Ren walks out, singing something under his breath jauntily, sake cup in hand as he surveys the others.

"Whew, I need to pace myself. Honored guests and hosts." He bows to the room.

"Sure Yoji-san. Please call me Tetsuo then." He followed the man-mountain. "What are ypu drinking?"

Yoji smirked and said, “You mean what are we drinking and we are drinking shoju.”

He then added to the Crane and Crab at the table, “Meet our newest friend, Tetsuo, and he just told me that he can drink any of you under the table.”

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

She chuckles lightly, covering her mouth with a raised fan. "Togashi-san flatters. But I don't think he has any reason to be worried about his words here. Something suggests that, had they been out of line, the matter would've been addressed already."

And you're not unpleasant to see, yourself, she thinks.

"It's still a bit early for me to have done much here, although I am hoping to explore while I am here, as duties allow, of course."

She looks to his hands. "Would you care to share a drink?"

[Yoritomo Tetsuo]

He then added to the Crane and Crab at the table, “Meet our newest friend, Tetsuo, and he just told me that he can drink any of you under the table.”

"With one hand tied behind my back, and my eye closed!" He added with enthusiasm, before burping...the smell of fish still in the air.

[Bayushi Shitoru]

"I would like to propose a toast, in dignified remembrance of great sacrifice. To the untold servings of tempura, bean cakes, fried fish...and blows to the head that made Hida Yoji the find Crab he is today. May the tradition of brave sacrifice carry on even in Crane lands."

Shitoru was feeling fine and drinking well. The Crab were a proper crowd to carouse with.

[Shosuro Himeko]

"Ah, truly? Well, allow me to be the first to welcome you and caution you about what to expect! But first, how about a toast Otomo-sama?" She motioned one of the servers down, getting them to refill the boys glass as well as top up her own "would you join me in one?"
