Wedding at Fire Shrimp Village an L5R PbP

Dressed for going about town and with a bundle under her arm, Kakita Yuuwaku makes her way to the inn and is soon directed to the room where Toritaka Hanatsuko is staying. At the door thereof, she scratches and says, "Toritaka-san? It's Kakita Yuuwaku, if you're available."

"Yes... you may come in" She was sitting in seiza meditating. Her dog just laying on her lap.

Yuuwaku slides the door open and enters with a bow. When she sees the Toritaka's posture, she says "My apologies; I did not intend to disturb your meditations. I can return another time, if you need."

"I am just finished, Kakita sama. No worries." She smiled and gave a seated bow. "Please come in. Should I ask for tea?"

"If you would, I would share it with you, and gladly," Yuuwaku replies as she finds her own seat. "And much else, tea or no, if you're willing."

"Tea is always welcomed after a meditation." She asked a servant to fetch some. "I am honored that you are visiting this one but I was not expecting you." She patted Sari's head.

"And I apologize for so impromptu a thing," she replies, "but I had been thinking of something since a conversation with a mutual acquaintance of ours this morning, and I was wondering if you would be able to help me with something."

"Of course Kakita sama."Hana nodded. "How am I to aid?"

"Well," she says, "as I said, a mutual acquaintance of ours--good man, trained as an Iron Warrior--and I were talking this morning, and he let me know that he is looking to give something to someone he's met. He'd mentioned that the person in question was a falconer of some skill, and I happen to know that you are such a person."

She pauses, partly to get a breath, partly to let the words sink in a bit.

"Given that, I figured you might have some ideas as to what a falconer of some skill might appreciate seeing, at least in the short term. Our acquaintance seeks to be a good student, you see, and he's trying to learn what he can so he can get started off right."

Hanatsuko smiled and slightly blushed. "I see... Set friend knows that the falconer may need the proper weapons for courtly duty." The servant arrived with the tea. "Perhaps the implications of such gift may bring some unwarranted connotations or speculations." She sighed.

"There are some concerns in that line, admittedly," Yuuwaku replies, nodding. "Thank you for the tea.

"Hence I come--to help, out of esteem for our acquaintance and, well, because some things should be encouraged when they can be."

"What have you suggested?" She wondered.

"That the best thing our friend could do would be to learn about the falconer, for one," Yuuwaku replies. "He notes to me that the two understand one another's feelings well; it seems both are blessed by Benten in one another. And he is caught by uncertainty, not knowing what path he will have to tread."

She sips at the tea, it having been poured by the servant who delivered it and who has since retreated.

"He wants to do right by the falconer, but, being less adept in such ways, he does not know how he can do the most right."

Hanatsuko placed a hand on her cheek. She is starting to be amused by the sugestions of Yuuwaku. "Did our mutual friend told you about how the falconer understands his position and will not be offended by what the future holds for him?" She shook her head. "Perhaps, they should enjoy their time they have to spend together but might prove difficult."

"Then perhaps an arrangement might be made to, ah, facilitate them conferring," Yuuwaku says. "And such arrangements are more easily made than might be thought."

"Time together for Benten's sake can be a great gift. I would allow both to be more open. Privacy is a commodity not many have. Yet I understand what that might entail for those not in the privacy." She nodded. "I understand that our acquaintance is a most honorable man and has a reputation to uphold as well as the falconer."

"And he is right to be concerned with such things," Yuuwaku replies. "Although, as it happens, he will be attending a dance performance to happen, oh, tomorrow, was it?" Yuuwaku smiles. "And it will be a small affair, that performance, and likely quite intimate for those in attendance."

"Yes...I see..." She wonders. "Well the falconer will be quite honored if after the performance the two can have their private moment."

"And is there something the falconer would like to see from someone in attendance at the event?" Yuuwaku asks. Might as well let him know there's something he can actually do, she thinks. It'll help him be more confident in himself, and he'll need it.

Hanatsuko shook her head. "No, the iron warrior knows what the falconer likes. The simple and proper man he is."

"The kind who can be trusted for discretion," Yuuwaku nods, "and for upright conduct even in situations that might...admit of other ideas?"

She raises an eyebrow questioningly.

"Perhaps a small token to indicate the idea is one approved by him and the falconer." She mused.

"Is there a certain sort that would be preferred?" she asks. "No sense in getting messages confused, after all."

"Ah well, I guess since it is a falconer and an Iron warrior, a feather that I shall give you. Perhaps you should leave a token for the falconer." She smiled.

"That is an easy enough thing to do," Yuuwaku replies. "And I should be happy to convey such a feather."
