Day 4, EE - Holmes Time (open)

[Fuzake Hifumi]

"I go where fate leads me." she explained. "A vision led me through Sparrow lands. Another, brought me here."

"You have the gift of prophecy?" he asked.

[Fuzake Hifumi]

She nodded. "It doesn't always feel like a gift."

[Dapper Dog]

He nodded and went quiet to eat his rice.

[Kitsuki Naida]

Having gotten her tray of food, simple fare really, even by her own standards, Naida found a seat and broke apart her chopsticks.

"Prophecy, hm? Anything about the rest of the festival here, or does it not work like that, Fuzake-san?"

[Fuzake Hifumi]

"The vision I had suggested a violent act here would have repercussions for the rest of the Empire." she answered. "But, such things are rarely as clear as they seem. The nature of today, for instance, has made things uncertain."

"A divination last night suggested the same road would be walked many times." she frowned. "One earlier today said the sea would call its children home. I think I may be swimming again tonight."

[Kitsuki Naida]

"Hm. Someone who remembers swimming last night? Interesting."

She takes a bite of her rice.

[Dapper Dog]

"What happened last night? And what about this vision about the future of the Empire?" he asked.

[Fuzake Hifumi]

"Has today felt familiar to you?" she asked the ronin. "It has to me, but I've experienced that before. Living through events I have foreseen can be confusing at times. Today feels a little different, however. Last night, several people walked into the water and nearly drowned. I swam in and pulled a few of them out. But, when I woke today, my clothes were dry and clean, as if it had never happened."

"As for my vision, I saw someone being killed here." she added. "After her death, I saw a throne crack and fire consume everything. The sun turned red and it rained blood. A man of burn and green sat upon the throne, before many noble dead."

[Dapper Dog]

“I do not recall anything like that,” he said with surprise. “You have a noble heart to have helped those in need, Fuzake-sama.”

When she described the latter story that gave him pause and a look of horror. He said, “That cannot be, do your visions always come true? It seems to imply something afoot with the Divine Throne. I pray that this vision serves to warn us and not just what will be.”

[Kitsuki Naida]

Naida ate her rice quietly and listened. Surely something like that was all metaphor and symbolism, right?

Right?

[Fuzake Hifumi]

"Not always. Fate can be fickle and people can alter their paths." she explained. "There is usually some truth to them, though. And, some events can be very hard to avoid."

[Dapper Dog]

The ronin nodded and said, “Still this troubles me greatly.”

[Fuzake Hifumi]

"It does concern me as well." she nodded. "I accompanied the woman in danger here. So far, she has been safe. But, I am watchful."

[Dapper Dog]

"Is she a member of the Monkey as well?" he asked.

[Fuzake Hifumi]

She shook her head. "No. She is a ronin I met in Sparrow lands. I-"

Suddenly, the Monkey collapsed before she could finish another word. The fruit she carried scattered as her body trembled and shook.

"...winds of the heavens... dire messengers.... all divided...." she mumble incoherently.

A shriek came from down the hall as a monkey left a room and bounded towards Hifumi. He stopped beside her, chittering quietly as he watched her and the others.

[Dapper Dog]

"Fuzake-sama, are you... do you need help?" the ronin asked.

[Kitsuki Naida]

...okay, this was a much more exciting wedding than she ever could have hoped.

...okay, she felt slightly guilty that that was her first though. She felt even more guilty that her second thought was whether it would be gauche to eat the fruit.

Setting that all aside she immediately set down her chopsticks and moved over to where the woman was sitting, lifting her head slightly and moving things out of the way with a tabi clad foot as she lay the woman's head on her lap. Perhaps some sort of seizure or epilepsy, she was no doctor. But this was what you did right?

"Kojitsu-san, what do I do?"

[Fuzake Hifumi]

"... she stands on one side..." Tension slowly began to leave the Monkey's body as she stopped shaking.

[Dapper Dog]

"Let's try and get her comfortable," he said.

[Kitsuki Naida]

"If her head on my lap isn't comfortable, I'm not sure how many other comfort cards I have to play. Maybe you could get her a blanket or a pillow?"

[Fuzake Hifumi]

"It's very comfortable, Kitsuki-san. Thank you." Hifumi's eyes slowly opened. "My apologies."

The monkey seemed to relax, turning its attention to the fruit. He picked up what he could and scampered back to the room.

[Dapper Dog]

The ronin lowered his eyes and returned to his seat and said, "Ahem, well... yes so about what just happened?"

[Fuzake Hifumi]

"Another vision." she answered. "It seems that my previous one may have been averted, but this one is more surreal and will be difficult to interpret. I saw a horse of wind descend from the heavens and break apart to spread throughout the Empire with a dire message. In one hand, they carried a bloodied wreath crown and in the other a scroll. I do not know the proclamation, but it was given by the Miya. Then, I saw a burning kobune. Next, the land broke and split apart. On one side was the man who sat on the throne in my first vision. On the other stood the ronin who was cut down in that vision."

[Dapper Dog]

The ronin is quiet as he digested her words.
