After asking Masao for company, and getting a fish at the local market he carried enveloped on three paper bags closed, he went back to the forest, to the lovely flower field he had found.

(OoC: Kakita Masao chooses the approach)

The nikutai, still not clear exactly why they were out away from the village, or why Sanaharu would ever be so far from more refined spaces, keeps a wary eye all around, eager that whatever this errand is, it be completed.

It isn't easy to keep his guard up continuously, but he keeps his mind clear enough that they encounter nothing unintended.

The glade is just as it was the day before, peaceful.

"Thank you for coming along." He said as he stepped in the flower glade. "There are many here, none in the town. If you wish to make an ikebana, I could pick you some. There are pink and red roses here, as well as many minor wild flowers."

He looks up to the bush where the creature was before and bows.

"Kojimasu-san! Have you eaten your fish today?"

The bush responded, "I have not, have you slicky fishes for me to feast on?"

"I brought you one from the nearby village." He says, handling tall the packet for the bush to see.

The bush shifts as a snow-white fox approached padding across the grass and wild flowers and waited for the fish to be placed before it.

Oh, so it was really an animal.

Still, he had some very unpleasant experiences with spirits before. He opens the paper bags and let it in the ground, opening facing the fox.

"This is suitable," the fox responded as it began to feast on the fish inside.

The soldier has no idea what is happening, but assumes that Sanaharu knows what he's doing. Masao remains close to the other Crane, in case danger should present, but he says nothing and pays equal attention to the area around them as to the fox.

"Ah where are my manners, would you like water? I sadly do not have any tea currently," the fox replied with a gesture of it's paw.

"This one is Kojimasu, and you are?" the fox asked of the bushi.

"This one is Kakita Masao, a friend of mines." He explains to the white fox... Apparently, it had a basic grasp on etiquette in its own twisted way? Curious. "I need no water, but thank you for your offer, Kojimasu-san."

"Did you find a use for the flowers you stole from me?" the fox responded.

"I'm the sorriest, Kojimasu-san." He bows deeply. "I knew not you cherished those flowers so deeply. It was not this one's intention to steal, no, never. The flowers will be used to make pretty arrangements, which will be given to the Fortunes, or to people, this samurai had not yet decided."

The fox chuckled and then said, "I am not displeased, completely. Although the flowers seem quite prettily arranged already but you lot always wish to changes things."

Kojimasu feasted on more fish and then added, "This fish is tasty, have you brought more?"

"Oh, Kojimasu-san, I only brought this piece. Tomorrow or the day after we are to depart, but before this I could try to bring you more. Had I known you would enjoy those so much..."

"Well I suppose this will do, though next time we should feast at your home," the fox responded.

"Oh, I do not know if they would allow foxes on the Blue Bird House..."

A talking fox? Of course. Why not.

When Sanaharu introduces him, Masao bows to the fox spirit. He continues to assume that the Asahina has things under control, but remains generally watchful.

Would that Han--Toritaka-san were here. She would know what to do.

"And yet I have been so gracious a host," the fox replied with a tsk, tsk.

"It's not my house, Kojimasu-san, it is the place our hosts gave us to stay. To reach my house, one must travel across the sea."

"So confusing, then I shall visit this place that is not your home," the fox offered.

"Oh, it has many flowers as well, although fewer flowers than there are here. But a lot more humans."

Kuma was a troublemaker and had decided he wanted to hunt small game this afternoon. Hana had to follow the bird to the Hinterlands. Kuma seemed to have found a little hummingbird that he made his prey. She saw the two Cranes and the fox and blinked a few times.
That is almost as beautiful as the foxes in Kitsune Mori.

Masao was there and she gave him a warm smile. "Good afternoon." She announced herself. Not that she needed announcements with Kuma swooping the small bird.

"Excellent," it snatched up the rest of the fish and ran off into the brush.
