[D2 MA] Earthy Pepper Festival – Crane Team (Closed)

Wearing... well only his fundoshi as this was the required ceremonial garb for this particular ceremony, Yuma joined Hida Kitusuchi and the rest of the not-well-defined-yet Crane group. His tattoos were extremely visible in such a state but none of them were shameful. They were just more numerous, more complex and more wildly colored than one could have expected of a Doji, a whole tapestry running through his back and depicting the trials of a seeker of knowledge.

Before they begin, he turned to face the ocean and prostrated himself before the dominion of the waves, asking of the spirits that they blessed the event too.

Their answer might have been positive as a powerful wave suddenly crashed on the shore, splashing forward unnaturally high and far, so much that the salted water managed to rain on them four, in a short, thin yet rainbow-inducing drizzle.

In effect everyone will be allowed to roll twice (you can add 2# before your normal roll in Orokos for that) and keep the best result.

Masao, still not looking comfortable but with great determination in his eye, arrived and shed his spare kimono -- giving a servant am emphatic glare that the garment had better be in his room at Blue Bird House when he returned.

Without any sleeves on, Masao's small, Crane mon tattoo becomes visible on his right forearm. He doesn't seem self conscious about it, at let not any more than he's self conscious already.

He approaches Kitusuchi with something resembling confidence. "Good afternoon, Hida-dono," he says with a deep bow.

(OOC: Dapper, can we just put rolls in this thread at any time? Like to get mine done soon if it's ok)

The dread magistrate, were he in his home jurisdiction, would likely be the talk of the town for a day due such a terrifying monster being found in such a casual dress - especially at something as formal as a wedding.

Then, he was in his fundoshi.

In one swift motion, the layer of kimono came clean off, with a poor servant struggling to catch it in his hands out of shock at the sudden removal. It was still clean and fresh, having only been worn for the journey to the start of the

While most crab would describe the lithe, athletic body as merely 'marked', some Crane would galk at the tapestry of nightmares etched into the skin of the magistrate.

Scars that never quite healed, cuts which left an eerie red trace in their wake, whip lashes in a strange number of places, the last moments of reminiscent bruising finally healing over and one particularly nasty ring of burn marks directly surrounding his heart. Instinctively, he traced that wound with a hand - a constant reminder of...something.

Beneath this is what could be described as the ideal Crane body, save for one additional thing - smooth skin, a chiselled abdominal system, not too much muscle, but hands deeply calloused.

He must have felt a deep sense of embarrassment because he reached into his kimono for his mask - only to remember he didn't have one. With his face a deep red, he approached the rest of the group.

"Kakita-Nikutai, Doji-san, H-Hida-sama."

After speaking with Kitusuchi, Masao prepares himself for the important role of chant leader. He feels the responsibility weighing upon him, and in practice runs he's struggled. Filled with the energy of Yuma's call to the water kami, he is readied and leads successfully through this effort.

(OOC:
Roll is here, success w/1 raise. 2 shrine points.)

Getting over the embarrassment wasn't as easy as Konohamaru hoped it would be, but even so he pressed on.

Putting in his best effort, the sad truth was that even at his level best, he wasn't a spectacular specimen of endurance. His fighting style mostly lead himself as part of a unit, acting fast for a "one and done" style of quick disarms and swift arrests.

Nevertheless, with the water kami by his side, he made a decent enough showing.

There was one moment where his fundoshi almost unravelled itself, which lead to Konohamaru having to catch the material in his teeth for a part of the journey - he imagined embarrassment would have finished him outright if he failed the catch.

Best is 16, so +3 shrine points (one for success, 2 for 10 above)

Yuma was no stranger to religious ceremonies and felt no shame partaking in one in such simple apparel. He led the offering to its fiery destination as was expected of him, even if his non-warrior muscles had to pay tribute for that.
