[Day 2 - LM] Living on a Prayer

Kotusuchi was here early to give prayers on such an auspicious day for her family. Word had reached her that Yancho was at the Hole again talking to some Dragon trollop and of course that meant her mother knew and blamed her for not being a good wife and keeping her husband properly occupied.

She was beginning to doubt that she would ever have children, it was not like they had not tried but either the child was lost long before bringing to term or nothing would take root. She thought it was her husband but even the remedies from her court physician was not helping and doubts were creeping in.

She rose and then wandered the stone statues, smirking at their rather life like accuracy.

Shouji had heard of the odd nature of this Shrine, though he wasn't sure he had actually believed it. Still here he was and here was the penises as plain as day.

With an amused smile and shake of his head he glanced away his eyes inadvertently landing on the form of the governess as it appeared she had come for prayers?

Offering her a rather formal bow he greeted her. "Good Morning, Hida-sama."

"Hai, Mantis-san, good morning, Captain of the Fox correct?" she responded.

"The Sea Fox, yes." He replied with a faint smile. She had been close, but best to not let the mistake stand.

"I hope I'm not disturbing your morning prayers?" If that was indeed what she had been doing.

"I just finished, is this your first time to the shrine?" she asked.

"Yes, one of my crew mentioned it to me, and I suppose I just had to see it for myself." He replied an amused smile on his lips.

"I suppose introductions are also due, as you know my ship and position but not me. "I'm Tsuruchi Shouji." The Mantis said with a polite bow.

“That’s right, Tsuruchi. You already know my name, but in case there is a Doji courtier waiting for me to be a brute, this one is Hida Kitusuchi the Lord of Bronze Carp Castle and loyal retainer to Hida Fuboshi the provincial daimyo,” she said peeking behind a stone penis.

“Never can be too careful.”

"Never know when a Crane might be hiding behind a penis." He agreed with a smirk. It was probably a bit crass for an attempt at humor, but well. Hopefully she wouldn't mind.

"I probably should of asked if you had seen one before saying that..." he observed a moment later. "Either way its a pleasure to meet you, Hida-sama."

"Seen what, a penis?" she said patting a statue. "Or a Crane hiding behind one?"

His cheeks turned a bit pink and he shook his head, chuckling a bit at himself. "This is what I get for being a bit crass."

Still he smiled at her and shrugged. "Let's go with the second one, it seems more amusing."

“Well that reminds me of a story, I went to a Sparrow court, yes they have Court, I know. And one morning I had to get my soldiers ready for maneuvers and when i slid the door I saw one extra body flail behind a large Hida. It turned out to be a pretty Doji page who apparently thought he could hide behind the mountain to protect his Honor,” she mused.

“Thus I always check for any hidden Doji.”

"Well, if he could fit a mountain he probably should of thought twice before trying to hide behind it." The Doji was at least big enough in one way or the other.

"Still that's a lesson worth remembering, in a couple ways. Thanks for sharing it."

She gestured for him to follow as she walked towards the cliff overlooking the beach and sea, "I hope you and your crew have had a good experience thus far in the village?"

Shouji nodded and fell into pace as she led the way. "It's been a pleasant stay for the most part. Even with one member being caught in a snare and the awakening we had this morning."

"Several of them had quite the good time at the party last night after all. It was a bit like herding cats getting them back to the ship." He smirked. "So i can assure you they're enjoying themselves."

"My brother had a good time, or so I am told, I am surprised he was there. Yoji isn't much for parties," she replied.

"I am humbled that you went to honor him."

"He left early if I recall, though he did seem to hit it off pretty well with a member of my crew." It seemed at least then that he had a good time.

"As for me, I was more then happy to attend. I enjoy a good party, even in I don't celebrate as hard as my crew." He paused a moment. "On that note though, my crew and I may be interested in hosting our on. Perhaps on the beach. If we could get permission on course."

"Granted, watch out for the ghosts," she replied casually.

"I've heard rumors of those. I take it, it's unwise to have the party too late into the evening."

He paused a moment. "I suppose I should add that we may use illusion to duplicate a ambiance similar to what's found on the islands. Is that acceptable as well, and if so should one or your Kuni look over the work?"

"I will send a Kuni to make sure everything is as it should be," she responded taking a serious tone.

"I thought that would be the case." He agreed with a nod. "I'll also have members of my crew stationed to give proper warning before any enter the area."

Best to be cautious about this sort of thing after all.

"Then I find that satisfactory, if the Kuni calls the party over, it ends," she added.

"That's fair enough." There was nothing foul about Meiko's magic after all so there shouldn't be a problem.

"Would you be interested in attending? Or are your days of partying a thing of the past?"

"I could be enticed, give me your best pitch," she replied.

"My best pitch, huh?" He smirked and shook his head.

He thought for a moment and cleared his throat. "All too often we are driven by our duties through every day. Still that does not mean we do not deserve the chance to unwind.

"My crew and I can't take everyone to the islands of silk and spice, but we can bring a bit of the islands to you if you wish to partake. Fine drink, music, and sights most may never see. It's waiting for those who might wish to get away, and see something new and perhaps a little exotic at least for a short while."

"Would you be one of those Hida-sama?" He asked tilting his head slightly to the side and raising an eyebrow questioningly
