Post Up [Day 1, LM]

[Kitsuki Tanaka]

Tanaka studied the ronin for a moment then shrugged, "Just fairy tales. Nothing to worry over."

"Was it your first time at sea? I mean had you been sailing before as just a passenger?"

[Yoko]

"First time. Sure, had the occasional river journey and what not, but for a voyage that long.. not often you have a need to go through the ocean when you're traveling Rokugan as a ronin, eh?" she smirked.

[Kitsuki Tanaka]

"I suppose not, but then again I have not been ronin," Tanaka replied with a smile, "My paths have only but recently diverged from the mountains of the north. So I suppose I can only say what I have read or heard and little of what I have experienced."

[Yoko]

Yoko watched her a moment, measured her, and took a swing, "Well, ronin life by coin hmm? No clan to support or protect them. Travel like that, as a passenger, would require coin. Needless expense when you can get just about anywhere in all the Empire without paying the cost, eh?" she watched afterwards too, gauging.

[Kitsuki Tanaka]

"True, true but it is also faster and their are places that may only be reached by boat." Tanaka waggled a finger, "Of course as Yoko-san mentioned about her own journey, you can always try to find some ship board work to reduce the price no?"

[Yoko]

"You could, just means you need to think about where you're going first. Which I suppose some do but," she shrugged, laugh a little. "Guess I just like the idea of being a leaf on the wind, eh? Best way to find work sometimes is just stumbling into it."

[Kitsuki Tanaka]

"That makes the life of the wave man sound more romantic then I suspect it truly is." Tanaka responded, rubbing her chin, "But perhaps...one might inquire what path the waves have taken you? The ending is known but what of the beginning?"

[Yoko]

"Difference between what's romantic and what's not is often what details you decide to focus on, eh? As for your question, been following my mom far as I remember. Past while I was finding work dealing with problems Crane found themselves not wanting to dirty their hands with, worked my way toward the coast slowly but surely over the years."

[Kitsuki Tanaka]

Tanaka frowned slightly at the mention of dirty hands, but did not press the issue. "True true, I suppose anything can sound romantic if phrased correctly." She paused a second and seemed to consider her next question. "I take it you are no longer travelling with your mother?"

[Yoko]

"Not right now, no. Easier to split up a while, easier to find enough work to support ourselves that way, eh?"

[Kitsuki Tanaka]

Tanaka smiled at that, "I see, and are you hoping to rejoin her after all this? Or perhaps much further down the road?"

[Yoko]

"Bit further down the road, eh? But I'll see her again before too long. Find myself with enough stories to tell her next time we meet."

[Kitsuki Tanaka]

"Have you done this often? Broken up with your mother and then returned to share your experiences?"

[Yoko]

"Not yet- probably will going forward, eh? Wasn't really old enough to be going out on my own before a couple years ago, and I stayed close for some years after that. Could say this is my first time out.. which it is, but I've been doing it for a while already, eh?"

[Kitsuki Tanaka]

"So how have you found your time on your own then?" Tanaka chuckled, "Now that you are fully stretching out your wings?"

[Yoko]

"Coin in my pocket and endless possibility in front of me, eh?" she says. Stretching her arms up into the air there was a groan. Looking back to Tanaka, "Suppose we shouldn't keep what's in front of us waiting any longer though, eh? Maybe I'll see you around?" she said, flashing a smirk.

[Kitsuki Tanaka]

"At least until after the wedding," Tanaka replied with a slight nod and then stood up, "Good or ill come what may, no? Though I wish you good fortune on the way forward."

[Yoko]

"I\ll hold onto that good fortune. Might be all I have one night, eh?" she said, patting her chest like she slipped it in there. Without much else other than a grin, Yoko made her exit.
