Behind his fan, voice neutral, seeking simply to give the man a lifeline in stormy seas: "Saisei-san is exceptionally popular today. So popular that I would recommend that later today you should have tea with Kakita Konohamaru-sama and me."

The Otomo nods, saying, also behind his fan, "A refreshment would certainly suit well. It is quite a warm day. Thank you, friend."

For now, however, the Badger took a side glance at the Otomo sitting on the dais. Maybe... could he see any kind of emotion?

The Otomo was classic stoic courtly grace.

[Oturi Yuahime]

Yuahime nodded at the parade of requests and said, “I am honored by the outpouring of support by the Falcon and Monkey. It is my intent to bring a decisive and quick end to any ambiguities. But I also wish to respect the wedding of Daidoji Yushoko and Hida Yoji, as the bonds that tie us together are one of our most sacred bonds and Duties.”

She finished with a nod to Ikeda Hiro, “When they are wed we shall sail for the Capitol on the following morning.”

Hiro then announced with authority, “Oturi Yuahime has called the court adjourned, and now shall depart.”

The Crab and other guests bow low. Ishi gestured for Yoko to take the lead as the standard bearer and the procession of her honor guard and the Heiress file out followed by the high-ranking members of the Crab and Otomo Yusuke.

The refreshments remain if people decide to linger and converse.

With the touch of a smile, alert to the need for paying upmost attention, Yoko takes what clues she quickly can from a glance and performs to the honor as expected.

As one of the last ones, the Badger finally, and a bit shyly, walks closer to the dais to offer his support.

When he is allowed to speak, he kneels, head down, and does his best to not let his accent get through, and says few words, but with his heart set.

"Oturi-denka. As ye probably know after your varied experiences, it is hard at this time for one Badger to speak for us all, except for the few leaders of the clan... which I am not. As probably know too, the Badger have great respect for your mother - and for one with your experiences. But for now... ", he says, bringing his head even lower and speaking with great respect. "For what little this humble 'un's support might be worth... A'll stand by yer words and decisions, and support ye without pause, come wha' may."

He keeps his head down for some more seconds, then finally raises it slowly.

As he does, his eyes shift to the Otomo again, but only for a moment. The man is unreadable... and that's hardly surprising.

Still, as he had thought earlier. Eyes must be ever open.
